Robert De Niro has revealed one thing about Donald Trump that has frightened him amid their long feud.
The US president and famous actor have long been against one another, with decades of back-and-forth remarks thrown at each other.
Trump probably got the largest shots in when he threatened to deport the New York native during an address this year.
It happened while Trump was making the longest speech in history at the State of the Union, and De Niro was attending the counter-address, titled ‘The State of the Swamp’. There, Robert De Niro was a main feature of the event, leading Trump to retaliate.
The 82-year-old previously told MSNBC’s The Best People with Nicole Wallace podcast: “He’s an idiot. We gotta get rid of him. He’s gonna ruin the country.”

De Niro has since said that Trump has ‘scared’ him.
Appearing as a guest on the No Kings 3 Kick-Off Call yesterday on 19 March, De Niro revealed more about the actions of Trump as the nation prepares nationwide marches to protest the Trump administration on 28 March.
The actor said: “I’ve played plenty of tough, scary guys in the movies — but you know what really scares the hell out of me? What the government, this government, our government, is trying to do is take away our right to vote.”
He added: “They’re trying every trick in the book, and the Constitution be damned. You see what they’re trying to pull, right?”
He then rattled off allegations against the administration, such as ‘nationalizing elections, hijacking the states’ voter rolls, making everyone re-register with original birth certificates, passports, and other documents’.

He then brought up ‘Trump’s private army,’ seemingly mentioning the National Guard and ICE, who he says are ‘on the streets to intimidate voters.’
He then accused him of ‘declaring another one of his phony emergencies so that he has an excuse to cancel the elections altogether,’ and ‘ending voting by mail, seizing voting machines, the list goes on and on.”
Earlier this year during the State of the Swamp event, De Niro went on to call trump a ‘failing, flailing and desperate’, and Trump wasn’t having it.
On Truth Social, the POTUS hit back, proposing his deportation as he wrote that De Niro was ‘Trump Deranged’ and needed to ‘get on a boat’ out of the US.
So, it’s safe to say they’re not on good terms.
In response to De Niro’s words, Davis Ingle, a spokesperson for the White House stated: “Robert DeNiro is a washed up has-been who hasn’t been relevant in 30 years. Now, he just beclowns himself by spewing hate speech and inciting violence against others. Instead of embarrassing himself every time he speaks, he should seek immediate treatment for a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut sized brain.”
