Zayn Malik Postpones U.S. Tour After Liam Payne Death

On Thursday, Zayn put out his own statement mourning Liam’s passing, following a joint statement from the surviving members of One Direction as a whole.

“I lost a brother when you left us and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly,” he wrote. “I will cherish all the memories I have with you in my heart forever.”

Today, Zayn announced that the upcoming US leg of his “Stairway to the Sky” tour — which was scheduled to begin next week in San Francisco — has also been postponed following Liam’s passing.

“Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY tour,” he wrote in a post on his IG Story.

“The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”

The tour’s UK leg is still scheduled to begin in Edinburgh on Nov. 20 — if that changes, we’ll let you know.
