One Direction seems like it’s being torn in opposite directions after former band member, Zayn Malik appeared to take aim at Harry Styles.

It has been a number of years since the Dusk Till Dawn singer was part of the five-person band that included Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Styles, and the late Liam Payne.

In 2015, Malik left the band during their On The Road Again tour, sharing in a statement that he wanted to be a normal 22-year-old at the time, and had his own path to follow.

While his former pals went ahead with their music together, Malik was the first one to break out into his solo career with the song PillowTalk in 2016, which featured his girlfriend at the time, Gigi Hadid in the music video.

Since then, he’s worked with the likes of Taylor Swift, Sia, and BlackPink’s Jisoo.

As he was building his career, One Direction split in 2016, and all members took off with their own music.

But Styles probably was the one who took the music world most by storm with his Sign of the Times song in 2017, and from there, he had hit after hit.

Currently, the singer is preparing for his July Madison Square Garden shows, and the October 30 and 31 special ‘Harryween’-themed gigs.

Fans can buy the tickets for his spooky gigs on February 2 via Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

Tickets for his earlier gigs are already on general sale…but it seems like this has caused an issue for Malik.

During a performance of one of his shows at Las Vegas’ Dolby Live, the 33-year-old was thanking fans on stage before people believe he made a dig at Styles and his ticket prices.

For context, Styles’ 12 nights at Wembley Stadium in the UK cost between £44.10 to £466.24 for seated places, £144.65 to £279.45 for standing tickets, or between £468.85 to £725.45 for VIP tickets.

In New York, you can expect to pay up to $1,667 for a VIP place, and this seems to have been noticed by his former bandmate.

Whilst on stage, Malik, whose tickets cost $228 for a standard seat, or above $600 on resale, and commented on prices.

He said: “You could have all been anywhere, but you decided to spend your night with me. Hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high… just saying.”

Now, people have had mixed reactions to this comment, with some being rather upset.

One person scathed on X: “being shady towards harry while being a flop solo artist himself is crazy. i don’t even like harry but come on…”

Another wrote: “He’s a nobody so his ticket prices weren’t high.”

However, some were in support of his ‘dig’, as a user said: “Good thing some artist feels for their fans, some don’t care if you pay more than a $1000.”

Online, there have been those who have been left flabbergasted at Styles’ ticket prices in the US, with a user asking: “I fear there must be some miscommunication here. $1,000 per ticket?”

They added: “Taking a breath costs $20 in the economy.”
