Bad Bunny delivered an iconic performance in yesterday’s Super Bowl halftime show, but the Grammy winner certainly had a helping hand from lots of celebrity names.
Despite some folks promising not to tune in to the Puerto Rican rapper’s performance at Levi’s Stadium in California yesterday (8 February), instead choosing to watch the Turning Point USA ‘All American’ alternative, it likely attracted well over 100 million viewers from across the world.
As well as a few subtle political nods and performing the entire set list in Spanish, anyone tuning in will have been treated to not just a performance promoting love and diversity from the Grammy winner, but also celebrity cameos from some of the biggest names in the business.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was seeing Lady Gaga emerge halfway through the show, singing ‘Die with a Smile’ from her album ‘Mayhem’, originally recorded with singer Bruno Mars, with a Hispanic twist, in what became a second Super Bowl appearance for the popular singer.

However, she wasn’t the only musician to steal a little of Bad Bunny’s thunder, and I’m not talking about Kid Rock, because millions of people also got to see Ricky Martin star alongside his Puerto Rican compatriot during the halftime show.
Martin, who is best known for singing ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’, performed his own version of Bad Bunny’s song ‘Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaiʻi’ during last night’s significant sporting fixture, which saw the Seattle Seahawks triumph over the New England Patriots.
But Martin and Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, weren’t the only Puerto Rican performers included, as Young Miko also made an appearance during the dancing.

He was joined by fellow rappers Cardi B, who had previously collaborated with Bad Bunny for her 2018 hit, ‘I Like It’, and Karol G, and they made up a Fantastic Four alongside Jessica Alba and Pedro Pascal, who were also spotted dancing on stage.
Of course, there were also plenty of big names in the crowd, too, with Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian being spotted in the busy crowd amidst rumours of a blossoming relationship.
Donald Trump, who did not attend this year’s Super Bowl, called Bad Bunny’s set ‘absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!’ on Truth Social, while also complaining that ‘nobody understands a word this guy is saying’, despite Spanish being the second most spoken language in the country he’s in charge of.
During his show, Bad Bunny showed off a billboard message that read: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”

He also promoted love and togetherness in his show, having previously spoken out against ICE at the Grammys earlier this month, after claiming three awards at the illustrious event, one of which he handed to a young boy during his Super Bowl performance.
However, aside from Trump’s complaints, Bad Bunny’s performance also found a critic in that of Jake Paul, with the YouTuber-turned-boxer taking to X to say he was ‘purposefully’ turning it off.
“Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences,” he continued. “(Which equals viewership for them) You are their benefit. Realise you have power. Turn off this halftime.
“A fake American citizen performing who publicly hates America. I cannot support that.”
Paul’s statement received a callout from his brother, Logan, though since then, he has clarified what he meant, especially with his ‘fake American’ comment.
