Ever caught a moment so strange it makes you wonder if Mercury’s in retrograde again? That’s exactly what happened when Grace Springer, just your average Coldplay concert-goer from New Jersey, captured an eyebrow-raising clip in Boston that set the internet abuzz. At first glance, it looked like a classic kiss cam moment—a sweet embrace lighting up the big screen. But then, bam! The couple’s awkward duck-and-cover shenanigans had everyone whispering, “Hold up, what’s really going on here?” With the stars aligned and social media sleuths digging deeper, the duo was soon outed as none other than Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot. As Grace admits, she nearly kept the video under wraps—until one suspicious glance made her hit ‘post’. It’s a cosmic reminder that sometimes, even a gig under a Leo moon can reveal more than just great tunes. Curious to dive into the full story? LEARN MORE.

The woman who filmed the viral ‘Coldplay couple’ video has revealed the key detail that led to her sharing the clip.

Grace Springer, from New Jersey, was enjoying the gig in Boston when she happened to film the viral moment.

While at first, it seemed like Grace had caught a sweet embrace, the pair’s reaction led to social media users becoming suspicious.

Once they had realised they were on the big screen, the man could be seen ducking down out of shot, while the woman covered her face and immediately turned away from the camera.

At the end of the video, Coldplay‘s Chris Martin can be heard saying: “Oh look at these two. Either they are having an affair or they’re just really shy.”

After the internet got hold of the video, they claimed it to be married Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot.

While Grace explained that she nearly didn’t share the video online, she explained to LADbible that there was one detail in particular that she says gave the game away.

While many people have pointed out that it was the man and woman’s reaction that was unusual, Grace said there was something else that made her realise something wasn’t quite right.

“I had no clue who the couple was, I thought it was an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and my friends were actually the ones who pushed me to post it after the concert. I never would have expected this,” Grace told LADbible.

“I thought it was more innocent, but the group I was with said ‘no, something weird is going on’, because it was kind of the talk of the concert. Everybody was talking about it. I was like, I don’t know, I think they were just shy.

“Then I realised I had the video and I looked back on it and when I saw his face I thought this seems suspicious.”

Grace said that she probably wouldn’t have shared the video if they had ‘acted normal’.

“If they had given a normal reaction, I wouldn’t have posted it,” she said.

Astronomer has since issued a statement over what happened, writing on social media: “Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.

“The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”

Social media users had falsely claimed that a third Astronomer employee – Alyssa Stoddard – was featured in the video.

The statement continued: “Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”

Hours later, the company shared another update, revealing that Byron has been placed on leave.

“Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy is currently serving as interim CEO given Andy Byron has been placed on leave,” the update read.

“We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days.”
