Why Settling for a Cosmic Dumpster Fire Might Just Be Your Star-Approved Survival Strategy (And How to Make It Work)

Added on November 30, 2025 inASTROLOGY CARDS

Ever find yourself folding your metaphorical chess king before the game’s truly lost, just because the stars have already whispered the inevitable? Yeah, me too. There’s this weird thing where society demands we resist reality like it’s some villain in a soap opera, yet here I am, just tossing my king down with zero fuss if the fight’s unwinnable. Maybe it’s my Mars chilling in the 9th house — always craving a grand, righteous brawl rather than petty spats — or maybe I’m just allergic to dragging out a lost cause. But why do we glorify “radical acceptance” like it’s a revolutionary act, when really, it’s just adulting 101? Rejection? Bring it on. Bad decisions? I’ll pay my dues. Life’s curveballs? Meh, whatever. So, why do so many of us wrestle tooth and nail instead of simply saying, “Game over”? Let’s peel back this cosmic onion and see what’s really going on. LEARN MORE

Chess king down

How hard or how easy is it for you to resign yourself to a bad situation or to the facts that counter your preferred outcome? I do this, very easily.  I do it, based on facts.

If I can’t win, I won’t fight. If I fight, and I lose or if I fight and I see I can’t win, I will lay down my king. For me this is an simple equation.

For example, if I have to cheat, I don’t want to win. If I’ve already lost, I won’t string it out.  But it seems this is not the norm. I searched about this and it seems we now call “resigning”, “radical acceptance”. Yes, I accept my loss, I am a grownup, but what’s radical about that?  It’s like we have to glorify the mundane in life. Can you win them all? No.

I wonder what the astrology is. I am definitely a fighter. But with Mars in the 9th, the fight has to be righteous and generally, big and over the top?  Why have a little spat?

Rejection? I am resigned to it.
Consequences of a bad decision I made? I’m resigned to pay them.
Victim of fate or some kind of bad luck. Oh well.

Can someone explain to me, why people tend to resist this?
