Ever wonder if your daily coffee run is just a simple transaction or a cosmic energy swap disguised in caffeine? Well, today’s cosmic play involving Saturn in Scorpio nudges us to dig a bit deeper into the mysterious world of energy exchange. Energy isn’t just about the physical stuff—money, info, or, yes, even the sparkle of intimacy—they’re power packs in disguise. Sometimes giving energy is straightforward, like buying a class and getting value back, but other times, it’s a wild ride involving stolen couches, identity heists, or unintentionally fueling your fiercest critics. Intrigued yet? Let’s unravel how you might be fueling monsters or nurturing allies with every interaction—because understanding this dance could just save you from surrendering your power unintentionally. Curious? Since we’re on the topic, of energy transfers, this is from my 2012 workshop  on Saturn in Scorpio.

“Learn about energy exchange.”

Now what is energy?

If I give you money, that is energy. If I give you information, that is energy. If I have sex with you, I will have given you energy.

Notice that “energy” relates to power.  Money is power.  Information is power.  Sex is power.

So what is there to learn?

Well, some exchanges are positive and straightforward. Let’s say you pay for this class (give me energy) and I provide you with a class that is meaty and satisfying (give you energy back).  That would be a healthy exchange.

Other exchanges are not so nice. You come to my house and steal my couch (my energy)! Or maybe you steal my identity and my good reputation (my energy) and get yourself some credit cards, enabling you to buy things with my energy.

These are simple examples of energy exchange, positive or neutral or negative, but energy exchange is not always so clear cut.  For example, you can attack a person (or an entity), which is a way to give them your energy. You can have every intention of harming that person (or entity) and see your energy pervert and have an unintended result.

As an example, every time someone attacks me on my blog, I manage to take their knife, convert it into something that benefits me. This is a big lesson. When you give something energy, even negative energy, you can inadvertently empower the person. See how important it is to learn this?  To learn to manage (Saturn) energy (Scorpio) that is.

As another example of what can happen when you give energy, look at what happened with Scorpio Roseanne Barr and Chik-Fil-A . She meant to damage the restaurant chain and instead she galvanized their support. She must have watched in horror as people lined up to spend their money which resulted in record sales. This is not a remark on this specific issue but a vivid example of what I’m talking about.

Have you ever heard the phrase he or she or we “have created a monster”?  You can create a monster with your energy (Scorpio), so it makes sense you direct it carefully (Saturn).

You can also offer good energy and see it go bad. An example of that is when a person, let’s say a parent, pays the bills for their drug-addicted child. They mean well but their kid is dis-empowered by the energy they offer.  You could even say they are helping them into their grave, and certainly this is not what is intended.  Another reason to direct your energy (Scorpio) wisely (Saturn)… or suffer the consequences.

“Learn about energy exchange.” Here is how that statement can help you: let’s say you find yourself suffering during this transit; you can ask yourself, what is there to learn about energy exchange? Were you manipulated?  Were you manipulative?

A common way people manipulate others is they withhold energy, to withhold sex in a marriage for example. However you have to learn to examine these things deeply. You can’t just point at anyone who withholds energy and tag them “manipulative”.

For example, a Scorpio / 8th house / Pluto type person will retreat for various reasons. One of them is to survive or self-protect. If someone has taken their energy off you, yes. They may be trying to manipulate and gain power over you but they may also pull their horns in because you’re consuming them alive.

This may be uncomfortable to consider at first. It means you have a shadow or a dark side yourself, but it is by considering things like this that you will grow and become empowered.

Realize that you have sources of energy in your life. Do you feed them as they feed you (exchange)? Or do you feast and consume them and then call them names when they run for their life?

How sophisticated are you when it comes to the exchange of energy?
