Why Miley Cyrus’s Engagement to Maxx Morando Is the Sweetest Cosmic Plot Twist You Didn’t See Coming

Added on December 6, 2025 inCelebrity News Cards, Entertainment News Cards

So, Miley Cyrus just dropped the sweetest little bombshell about why she said “yes” to Maxx Morando — and no, it’s not because he’s some rockstar, it’s because he’s basically the cardboard recycling king. Yeah, as in, dude handles all that pesky mess, making their engaged life a little less chaotic. Now, with Mercury doing its typical sneaky dance through practical Capricorn, it’s no surprise that having a reliable partner who tackles the boring but necessary chores is a cosmic win. Plus, Miley’s weird paper-phobia — which sounds like something pulled straight out of a quirky indie flick — means Maxx not only wins her heart but also her junk mail battles. Can love really be built on cardboard boxes and waxed paper? Apparently, yes! The stars might just be realigning romance rules with this one. LEARN MORE

Why Miley Cyrus Got Engaged To Maxx Morando

Miley explained that a key part of planning to say “I do” is that Maxx — get ready for it — handles all the cardboard recycling. Honestly, pretty relatable when it comes to celeb concerns!

“I’m known as a little bit of a Grinch because I have a qualm with Christmas. I hate paper, like looking at that makes me want to vomit,” she said. “The real problem for me with paper is when people have dry hands and they touch paper and then it’s Christmas and it’s cold and everyone’s hands are dry and they’re all touching paper.”

Miley went on to say her issues with paper are “a phobia” and that she “[needs] help” — and that is where Maxx apparently comes in.

“That’s the best part — that’s really why I got engaged because I just make my fiancé open all the packages outside,” she explained.

Jimmy went on to ask a fairly reasonable question: Specifically, if Miley’s fear of paper will affect her signing their marriage certificate. Unsurprisingly, she’s thought this part through as well.

“This is the thing, like waxed paper, anything that’s got a smooth surface, that’s better,” she explained, before referring to her previous marriage to Liam Hemsworth by adding, “I think I remember the paper is waxed.”

You know what they say: The couple that manages each other’s phobias together, stays together.
