When Venus & Mars Tango with Neptune and Pluto: The Cosmic Drama of Love That’s Definitely Not Getting a Happy Ending

Added on June 28, 2025 inASTROLOGY CARDS

Ever get that feeling some people just won’t take a hint? “Some women are really hard to get rid of,” a guy once muttered to me, and honestly, isn’t that the perfect teaser for today’s cosmic drama? When Venus cozies up to Neptune, especially if either’s lounging in Pisces or Neptune’s gliding through the 7th house, unrequited love isn’t just likely—it’s poetic. Yet, not every heart tangled in this web blindly chases what won’t bite back. Case in point: I’ve got Venus squaring Neptune on my chart, and trust me, chasing unreturned affection? Not my style. But then again, the story often spirals into stalker territory—too wild to ignore. Turns out, stalking vibes mix in a toxic cocktail of jealousy, control, and anger—life’s messier when Mars or Pluto throws their hats in the ring! Whether it’s a Mars-driven conquest or a Pluto-tinged Electra complex, unreturned love wears many masks. So tell me: ever been the star—or the ghost—of your own unrequited saga? What’s your cosmic culprit? LEARN MORE

Dante's dream“Some women are really hard to get rid of,” a man explained. “No matter what you do, they just keep coming…”

Pining for an unattainable lover is a classic manifestation of Venus in aspect to Neptune, Venus in Pisces or Neptune in the 7th house.  But I don’t think this covers the gambit when it comes to unrequited love.  There are also exceptions! I have Venus square Neptune in my chart. I would never pursue a man who did not reciprocate my interest.

In addition, many of these situations progress to stalking which I looked at,  in 2009.

The Astrology And Psychology of Stalking

It turns out stalking is tied to narcissism and anger and control and jealousy. In short, it’s complicated!

In some cases the person is motivated by the idea of making a conquest. My old pal, Dario was a good example of that. He was pure Mars. Clean Mars, is what I’d call it. An unafflicted Mars is generally not malicious. It just wants to conquer. It’s programmed that way.

Other unrequited love situations may be Pluto-themed. For example a woman who pursues another woman’s husband may be suffer with an Electra complex.

Have you experienced more than your share of “unrequited love” (on either side of the equation)? What do you attribute it to?
