When Two Planets Thwack Together: Is Cosmic Karma Sending You a High-Five or a Slap?

Added on August 5, 2025 inASTROLOGY CARDS

So, you’ve stumbled upon the wild claim that if your birth chart has multiple pairs of conjunct planets, your past lives might be, well, less than glamorous? Maybe a few cosmic quirks dragging along like tired luggage from forgotten eras? The theory goes that these planetary couplings somehow reveal “less than stellar” karma, but—here’s the kicker—it never really spells out what that karma actually means or how you’d decode it. Honestly, it sounds a bit like astrology playing detective with no real clues, just wild guesses handed down on celestial gossip lines. Is it just another way for folks to toss judgment around like confetti at a parade? Or are these so-called “chart patterns” genuinely telling us deeper secrets about our soul’s history? I’m skeptical, and frankly, I think obsessing over other people’s cosmic baggage might be the perfect excuse to dodge our own messes. But hey, don’t just take my word for it—let’s dive in, poke this theory with a stick, and see if it holds any water beneath the glitter. LEARN MORE

conjunction“I saw some comments on an astrology chat a while back talking about how people with pairs of conjunct planets (especially multiple sets) have that configuration as an indicator of less than stellar past life karma, but it didn’t go into much detail about how you tell what this past life karma is centered around. Presumably it’s based on the content & location of the various pairings, but I haven’t found much that’s very clear about diagnosing it.  What can you tell us about this type of chart pattern and how to interpret the karma associated with it?”
Hi, J. I don’t think this theory holds any weight at all. It sounds like another way to judge a person (Saturn) based on nothing (Neptune). It also serves to inflate the person doing the judging, as if they could discern something like this from chart from on high.
II see no logic here at all.  “You have three pairs in your chart, therefore you were a king or a murderer or a whatever.”  Oh yeah?  Prove it!
Specific to your question, I don’t think this is a “chart pattern”.  I also think judging another person’s karma is a way to avoid looking at your own issues.
This is not at all meant to be harshly critical or personal to you.  It’s meant to to illustrate, critical thinking, which is really needed in this day and age.  And for the record, I have worked with people with multiple pairs on their chart; some striking examples, actually. They were just people.
Good luck in your studies.
