Because no matter how low on the totem pole you may be or wherever you came from, there’s no need to condescend or to put other people down. And I would not stand down, and nor should I have.”

In 2020, Samantha Ware accused Glee costar Lea Michele of “traumatic microaggressions”: “I believe you told everyone that if you had the opportunity you would ‘shit in my wig.'” In response, Lea said that she didn’t recall making that “specific statement,” but apologized for having “clearly acted in ways which hurt other people.”

In a 2020 essay, Heroes star Leonard Roberts claimed that his character was killed off from the show over clashes with his costar Ali Larter — leading him to feel singled out as a Black actor. In response, Ali said, “I am deeply saddened to hear about Leonard Roberts’ experience on Heroes and I am heartbroken reading his perception of our relationship, which absolutely doesn’t match my memory nor experience on the show.”

Years & Years singer and It’s a Sin star Olly Alexander announced in 2022 that he would no longer be working with Savage X Fenty after it was announced that Johnny Depp would be partaking in its Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 show: “after this news i won’t be wearing it anymore.” He “liked” a number of posts, calling the casting decision “yikes” and a “disappointment.”

Charlize Theron said that she felt so threatened by Tom Hardy’s behavior during Mad Max: Fury Road, she requested protection. In one altercation, she is quoted as telling Tom — who was three hours late — “Fine the fucking cunt a hundred thousand dollars for every minute that he’s held up this crew.” Tom denied that Charlize would have felt frightened: “She’s a very serious actor. So, I don’t see why she would ever be intimidated by me or in any way feel frightened. I think that was more bollocks.”

In January 2020, Trina McGee posted a number of tweets about her Boy Meets World costars, including the allegation that she was “called Aunt Jemima on set during hair and make-up” — later revealed to be said by Will Friedle. He then apologized to her, which she forgave.

Olivia Munn said that she felt isolated by the cast and crew of the movie The Predator after she learned that one of the actors playing a small role in the movie was a registered sex offender — and she pushed for their scene to be cut. The movie’s director, Shane Black, initially defended the casting decision — but then apologized.

Tyrese Gibson criticized his Annapolis co-star James Franco’s approach to method acting in a 2007 interview with Elle; “He never snapped out of character. Whenever we’d have to get in the ring for boxing scenes, and even during practice, the dude was full-on hitting me.” He added to Playboy, “I never want to work with him again, and I’m sure he feels the same way. It felt very personal. It was fucked-up.” James later said, “I take full blame for any problems on that film. If he had a bad experience working with me, I was probably a jerk.”

In 2024, Rebel Wilson called Sacha Baron Cohen an “asshole” and accused him of pressuring her to perform a lewd act on the set of the 2016 film The Brothers Grimsby. She recalled, “I was now scared. I wanted to get out of there, so I finally compromised: I slapped him on the ass and improvised a few lines as the character.” His reps called the claims “demonstrably false.”

In April 2025, Bella Thorne made a number of allegations about her time working with Mickey Rouke. “So many gross stories of things he made me go thru on that movie…I guess he thought it was funny to humiliate me in front of the entire crew,” she said, calling the experience “one of the all time worst experiences of my life working as an actress.” A representative for Mickey subsequently said that he “adamantly denies any intentional misconduct. He was not made aware of any such concerns during filming and had no prior knowledge of Ms. Thorne’s discomfort until now.”

Finally, in her memoir, Love, Pamela, Pamela Anderson alleged that Tim Allen flashed her on the set of Home Improvement to get “even” because he’d seen her naked before. He denied the claim.
