Vanessa Marcil is setting the record straight. The “General Hospital” alum recently fired back at her ex, Brian Austin Green, after he labeled her “toxic” in a podcast interview.

In a sharp and direct response, she shared old legal documents to back up her side of the story and defended herself publicly.

Now, their long history of drama is back in the spotlight, and fans are picking sides.

During a recent episode of the “Oldish” podcast, Brian Austin Green opened up about his past relationships, including the one with Marcil, the mother of his oldest son, Kassius.

The 51-year-old spoke candidly about how receiving excess affection from his mother as a child affected his adult romance life.

According to him, it made his co-parenting situation with Marcil very difficult, further describing his ex as “toxic.”

“If I’m looking for a woman, I want the complete opposite of that. I had some major missteps because of that. I mean, the relationship that I had with Vanessa was very toxic in that way. Like it wasn’t a loving, caring relationship,” Brian Austin Green said per PEOPLE Magazine.

Green also detailed how his mother smothered him while he was growing up: “To a fault sometimes, just everything was about me.

However, with Vanessa, it was not that at all. As he said, “It was masked in ‘this is a relationship where that absolutely exists.’ So you start thinking like, ‘Oh, it’s just kind of a new version. Oh, she loves me, but this is her way of loving me,” he said.

The actor noted that he initially believed Marcil was trying to help him, but after a few years, he could no longer recognize himself. “You’re like, ‘Who am I at this point?’ There’s not one piece of me that’s left. My relationship with everyone around me has changed,” Green said.

After their split, the “Don’t Blink” actor began dating Megan Fox, whom he described as a “breath of fresh air, coming out of what felt like Vietnam.” The pair eventually tied the knot in 2010 but divorced in 2021.

Not long after Green’s comments, Marcil took to Instagram to defend herself. She shared a screenshot of a brief chat with Green, which appeared to hint that he had forgotten about their son’s graduation.

The screenshot featured the name of the text recipient as “Kassius Dad.” The exchange began with Marcil sending a photo of their son sitting in a car.

Green then allegedly asked, “When was that?” to which Marcil responded, “Yesterday was his graduation.”

The father of five then complimented the actress, saying, “You did a really great job. He’s an amazing person,” to which Marcil simply responded, “Thank you.”

After posting her side of the story, Marcil received a wave of support from fans online. Many people thanked her for sharing the truth and praised her for staying strong through the years.

“Amazing is an understatement. Nothing harder than raising kids. Especially when there is limited help,” one person wrote. Another said, “You are a great mom. He can’t rewrite history. I support you.”

Some fans were upset that Brian Austin Green missed his son’s graduation and called him an absent dad.

“He seriously didn’t go to the graduation?” one person asked, while another shared, “So Brian Austin Green is a deadbeat and continues to badmouth you in the press? Interesting.”

Marcil and Green dated in the late 1990s and welcomed their son Kassius in 2002. They broke up soon after and have had a tense relationship ever since.

In 2023, the former couple made the headlines when Marcil claimed she was solely responsible for raising Kassius.

Green didn’t sit back. He fired back at his ex via a post on his Instagram story. At the time, Green revealed that Marci’s claims were false, adding that he and Fox primarily cared for Kassius.

“I can’t tell you all how frustrating it is to read continued lies from a 50+ year old woman on social media like she is still in high school. Megan and I bust our asses to give Kass a well rounded childhood since his mom was rarely there. I’m assuming that’s why she posts so much of him now. When will she just GO AWAY,” he wrote per PEOPLE Magazine.

Two years later, the former lovers still appear to be in a co-parenting battle, with no one knowing if they will ever find common ground.
