“Unmasking the Oversimplified: How Society Redefines Real People into Colorful Caricatures”

Added on March 15, 2025 inASTROLOGY CARDS

In a world that often seems obsessed with pigeonholing people into neat little boxes—think of the gun-toting, energy-drink-chugging stereotype versus the quinoa-eating, yoga-loving vegan—it feels like our identity has become a game of dress-up. Are we really so comfortable donning caricatures of ourselves? When did deep, intricate human experiences get watered down to the crude essence of a meme? I’ve found myself pondering how we so easily slip into these oversimplified roles, and it’s not just amusing, it’s a bit concerning. After all, what’s the fun in being just a “foodie” or a “crypto bro” when we has layers—like an artichoke, or maybe an onion, although definitely sans the tears!

In today’s journey, we’ll explore the danger of identity constriction and embrace our wonderfully chaotic complexity. Let’s talk about the pressure to fit into someone else’s narrative and how it can create self-imposed prisons, effectively stifling our evolution. Are you ready to peel back the layers and embrace the messiness of being human? Buckle up! LEARN MORE.

We are all complex, nuance beings who are constantly changing. Evolving or devolving, depending.  But when I look around, I see people presented as simple caricatures.

At this point, I am not sure how many people actually want to stay “people”, as opposed to opting to present themselves with certain traits or interests, exaggerated, in order to create an identity.

I’m not just talking about enhancing sexual characteristics.  The gun owner, who is presented as someone who wakes up and lives, breathes and drinks, ammo.   Gamer stereotype?   Trad wife?  Crypto bro? Foodie. Vegan stereotype. “Fill-in-the-blank-Tards” of every stripe imaginable!

I’m talking about taking sentient human beings and turning them into mockable one-dimensional cartoons, often with some kind of prop or gimmick.

Twenty years ago, I remember writing to warn a young woman about “tagging” herself.  This is a weird phenomena I read about in diet book, forty years ago!  The author warned against telling people things like, “I love cookies!”  When you do this, you have to prove your statement.  People bring cookies around, you have to gobble them up, to prove yourself?  See how limiting that is?

Do not curse yourself in this way.  Stay loose!  Stay open!

You see me do this on this blog.  I have more than one interest. I also have transits and things come to the front and then fade and then come back, or whatever. I’m human!

There is pressure to narrow myself and conform.  Just stick to astrology /forecasts /whatever.  See what I’m getting at?

I don’t want to be less than whole.  This is part of the dumbing down and as people involved in astrology, we’ve got a real edge in understanding exactly how marvelously complex each person is.  I recommend retaining, developing and utilizing all your bits and pieces! Don’t let yourself be reduced!

I chose the picture, because what you see there is a girl, hard to tag.  And as a real example of what I mean; I like to cook.  I have always liked to cook,  but I’m losing interest in this now.

Whether this is a permanent change or not, remains to be seen. Point is, I don’t want to have to keep doing what I am know for doing, when I’m moving in another direction, internally.

Bottom line, it’s very easy to build yourself a prison. But why?
