When I decided to make a cross-country move, little did I know I was packing up more than just my furniture—I was dragging along a whole lot of party spirit too! I mean, we’re talking about transforming my space into a hub of social activity that threw weekly dinner parties for anywhere between two to twenty-two people. Talk about a culinary marathon! But then I took a peek at my progressed astrology chart from that time, and wow, did it shed some light on my compulsion to be the social butterfly. With loads of Libra vibes and Mars strutting its stuff in Scorpio in the 7th house, it all made sense—sacrifices, entertainment, and more.
Yet, just when I thought I had it all figured out, life threw me a curveball. The fun of hosting and cooking started to morph into something deeper and, one could say, heavier. Cue the caregiver transformation… Have you ever found yourself caught off guard by the unexpected turns of your personal growth? When I moved across the country, it was a big change. I was entertaining, a lot. I had numerous dinner parties and hosted all kinds of things, cooking and baking and serving? I’m talking about hosting two to twenty-two people… weekly, if not more often than that!
Now look at my progressed chart at the time. Lots of Libra. Mars in Scorpio in the 7th; I had a strong drive to socialize! Sun Neptune, sacrifices. I was doing all the work (6th house), to pull these things off.
But 5th house moon in Libra has a lot of fun. We also hosted a lot of children, an entire kid’s band (Leo), and really, this is not too far off my Natal chart as far as character and preferences go.
Then look what happened.
This chart is flying beneath the wire, big time. I’m like a helper-Gargoyle or something. Those things don’t really let on, do they?
There is also an intense focus on caregiving, far beyond anything I’ve written about. I’m back workin’ in the dirty grave!
Again, I know this is a single case, but it’s a strong one. I’m going to have to watch the transits but I can tell you, transiting Pluto is squaring my progressed Venus and Mercury. All I talk about is the death and devasting illness amongst my friends (Venus) and neighbors (Mercury). Not family, see? My moon isn’t getting hit.
And what about my dogs (Mercury-ruled, small animals)? Three of my four dogs are geriatric. Here comes Pluto.
Last, to add insult to injury (sort of), I have an astro-twin who reads this blog and has for years. She’s aware of this; we work together, periodically. She just ordered her progressed chart and all her progressed Scorpio planets are spread across her 9th and 10th houses. To this I say:
