In the vast cosmic dance of astrology, we often find ourselves fixating on the flashier, faster-moving planets, while the slower giants like Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto chill in their long-term orbit, almost like the grumpy uncles at a family gathering—perceived but not really engaged, right? But what if, just what if, those slow movers weren’t just sitting there twiddling their thumbs? What if, like awkward relatives, they held the key to profound transformations in our lives?
I’m sharing my unique experience here, having witnessed not one but two of my slower-moving planets—Jupiter and Uranus—change signs within the same year! It was about a decade ago, and like a good storyline in a suspense flick, the aftermath was nothing short of riveting. This article walks you through my journey, as I unravel the intriguing ways these celestial shifts have shaped my thoughts, beliefs, and approach to life itself. If you’ve ever pondered how those slow-moving planets can impact your own narrative, turn the pages of this cosmic journey with me. Spoiler alert: You might just find your own answers among the stars!
So, what if you started thinking of your progressed chart as your true self instead of clinging to that well-loved natal chart? Let’s explore the possibilities together. And hey, have you ever experienced the transformation that comes with such planetary shifts? I’m dying to hear your thoughts!
When working with (secondary) progressions, the slower moving planets are often ignored. This is especially true for the outer planets as the majority of people will go through their entire life without seeing them change signs.
I’m an anomaly, in that I had my progressed Jupiter and Uranus, both change signs in a single year. This happened about ten years ago. I wrote about it at that time, and outlined some changes I’d noticed, last year. I’ll link that, below.
Currently, I’m looking at how I may emphasize a progressed chart, in ways I’ve never done before. This includes considering subbing it for the natal. I’m chronicling my process, as I sort through this.
Since I’ve had these slower moving planets change signs, I thought looking at this might be productive. For this purpose, let’s say I am my progressed chart, rather than my natal. If you missed it, I mentioned this was a common way progressed charts were used, 30 years ago. Progressed Chart Preferred Over The Natal.
What would it mean, if my natal Jupiter in Capricorn progressed into Aquarius? Is it no longer, “the harder I work, the luckier I get”? Would my beliefs be less conforming? And what would it mean, if my natal Uranus in Leo progressed into Virgo?
When I started writing about progressed chart this last week, I stated I feel I can access either chart. The old or the new. I’ve not been able to resolve this. Perhaps, the old me is so familiar, I can always go back and visit, but I’m actually living the progressed chart? This isn’t clear to me.
These two planets, natal and progressed Jupiter and Uranus, aspect each other. It seems taken together, they represent my ideas (Uranus in Virgo) and my beliefs (Jupiter) changing. Updating.
Some changes are obvious. For example, I’ve set aside anything mainstream, sanctioned, conservative (Capricorn), when seeking to learn (Jupiter) something. This was not the case, prior to this change. I have not gotten news (Mercury / Virgo) from mainstream sites in more then ten years. I love news and would have never imagined this, earlier in my life. It’s shocking!
I’ve also become more detached. Needing space, I’ve moved from the “fabric” of life, out to the fringe. It’s possible this was necessary, in order to process a update of this magnitude. I mean it’s an Aquarius / Uranus operation, which seems all about taking a quantum leap. Less warmth, less building, life has become more abstract. I like and I don’t like this, so I’ve still got some Libra goin’! But my progressed chart has Mars in the 7th which similar to my natal Mars in Libra.
All of the evidence presented in this series I’ve written in the last week makes a strong case for the validity of progressed charts. I have puzzled over how / why they work, for many decades. Day for a year, whaaaat?
But they do work, and I’ve had to live not understanding why for all these years. I’m hoping these new revelations are leading me to crack this puzzle. I mean, someone knows or they used to. With my progressed Uranus in Virgo, it just may come to me. Time-cycles, we don’t understand, for example.
Have you had a slow moving planet progress into a different sign? Have you reflected on this at all? Any other observations?
