Joe Rogan had to apologise to podcast guest after episode 'went off the rails' in 40-minute heated argument

He admitted to feeling bad afterwards

Joe Rogan is known for having often controversial views and for causing a bit of a stir with the comments he makes on his podcast.

And with guests ranging from Donald Trump to Kanye West, he was once forced to apologise after an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience ‘went off the rails’ with a 40-minute heated argument.

The 57-year-old has been consecutively running his popular podcast for quite a while now with it worth absolute millions. But that doesn’t mean it always goes to plan, with the 2017 episode going pretty south.

Rogan had American-Canadian political commentator Steven Crowder on as a guest when they butted heads over weed.

The pair were discussing the legalisation of marijuana, with the podcast guest arguing the negative effects of it.

But Rogan is an advocate for the stuff and so their disagreement ate into a large portion of the podcast episode. Crowder had been on the podcast two years prior, but it was this 2017 episode that ended up launching into an argument.

And the host ended up issuing an apology on Instagram, explaining that it ‘went off the rails for a while.’

“First of all, I genuinely like Steven as a person, and although I might not agree with him about everything I think he’s a good man,” Rogan wrote.

“During the podcast we got into the subject of marijuana and by that time we (especially me) were quite a bit drunk and didn’t exactly handle the conversation really well. Steven gets attacked online quite a bit, and it certainly wasn’t my intention to have him on my show to argue with him. At the beginning of the show it seemed to me that we weren’t being conversational as much as we were going off talking points so I suggested a few drinks as a social lubricant.”

He went on to explain that they had ‘disagreed about weed’ and after feeling a ‘personal level of regret’, Rogan was sure he ‘f**ked up.’

“I take 100% responsibility for it going off the rails, and I’m truly sorry if it upset any of you that listened to it or watched it. We managed to pull it back together at the end, but of course the sh**ty parts are all you or I will focus on for a while.

“My humblest and most heartfelt apologies. I do my best with these things but I, like all of us, am flawed.”

It wasn’t all love lost though, as Crowder did eventually return for other episode.
