Unbelievable Casting Magic: 36 Actors So Perfectly Cast, Even The Stars Were Jealous

Ever floated through the cosmos on a Wednesday? You know, dipping into the universal soup of stars that stirs up mirthful insights on our favorite fixations? So here I am, wandering through the glittering lanes of the astral sphere, only to bump into a big ol’ question mark, hanging out under the constellation of Casting Choices.

Reading Lauren Weisberger’s novel, I painted this tiny tyrant in my head, vibrant and young, a nip and a tuck from reality. But then came Hollywood’s rigging and bagging, dropping a bomb on our cherished mental imagery.

Never thought I’d be penning a love letter to Meryl’s turn as Miranda Priestly, but lo and behold, here we are, with me confessing that maybe, just maybe, those celestial vibes were onto something—a departure that not only sticks but shines.

What’s your take on the artistically archetypal? Was Meryl’s larger-than-life portrayal eclipsed by your own mental casting?

“In the book, she was supposed to be more petite like the real Anna Wintour, and maybe I imagined her a little younger when I read the novel. When the movie was cast, I was bummed that it was her because it was such a departure from my mental image, but she just nailed it. I know Anna Wintour exists, but to me, that female archetype is the way Meryl Streep acted it.”
