The Miami-Dade Police Department has put the officer responsible for the brief detention of Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill on administrative leave. This little pre-game showdown occurred just before Hill was set to take the field against the Jacksonville Jaguars on that fateful Sunday. Director of the department, Stephanie V. Daniels, made sure to comment on the event in a statement shared by CNN.
“Following the incident involving Tyreek Hill, I’ve initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to ensure we get to the bottom of it,” Daniels noted. “One of the officers involved has been reassigned to administrative duties while we dig into this matter. I’m all about transparency and accountability when it comes to my officers and how we interact with the community.” You can almost feel the determination in her words, can’t you?
