Donald Trump has outlined his bold belief for how the Russia-Ukraine war could end. The Republican remarked that if NATO fails to take action, he will deem them as ‘wasting’ the United States’ time, energy, and money.
Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy demanded that all European nations cease purchasing oil and gas from Moscow.
In an interview with ABC News, he said: “We have to stop [buying] any kind of energy from Russia, and by the way, anything, any deals with Russia. We can’t have any deals if we want to stop them.”
Now, US President Trump, 79, has made a similar claim in a letter addressed to ‘all NATO’ nations and ‘the world’.
The note, posted on his social media site, Truth Social, vowed that he was ready to impose ‘major sanctions’ on Vladimir Putin’s Russia, as long as NATO agreed to cease buying oil from the country.

“As you know, NATO’S commitment to WIN has been far less than 100%, and the purchase of Russian Oil, by some, has been shocking!,” he claimed on Saturday (September 13).
“It greatly weakens your negotiating position, and bargaining power, over Russia. Anyway, I am ready to ‘go’ when you are.”
“Just say when? I believe that this, plus NATO, as a group, placing 50% to 100% TARIFFS ON CHINA, to be fully withdrawn after the WAR with Russia and Ukraine is ended, will also be of great help in ENDING this deadly, but RIDICULOUS, WAR.”
Trump alleged China currently had ‘a strong control’ over Russia’ but that his powerful tariffs would break that so-called ‘grip’.
He also claimed that while it ‘wasn’t his war’, he was on hand to stop it and save ‘thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives’.
“If NATO does as I say, the WAR will end quickly, and all of those lives will be saved! If not, you are just wasting my time, and the time, energy, and money of the United States.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
Trump has previously threatened tariffs on Russia, giving various deadlines that have all been ignored.
The 47th POTUS has also attempted to broker ceasefire negotiations with Putin, with the pair meeting up in Alaska for what the businessman called a ‘productive’ conversation.
Despite failing to even mention the Russia-Ukraine war in their chat, the father-of-five claimed ‘many points were agreed to’.

“There are just a very few that are left. Some are not that significant. One is probably the most significant, but we have a very good chance of getting there. There’s no deal until there’s a deal,” he cautioned.
Trump later hosted European leaders, including Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, at the White House to further discuss ceasefire options.
Yesterday (September 13), Ukraine launched an attack on a Russian chemical plant in Perm, Krai.
In a statement, Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin said the Metafrax Chemicals plant was ‘operating normally’. He added: “Emergency services are working at the site. There is no threat to residents’ safety.”
The attack came days after Poland reported it had shot down Russian drones that had ‘violated’ its airspace.
At the United Nations, the United States called the airspace violations ‘alarming’, vowing to defend ‘every inch of NATO territory’, as per Reuters.
