The NFL star is at the helm of the latest edition of the “Are You Smarter Than” series, which originally gained fame with “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?,” premiering in 2007. In this new version, contestants will face off against a panel of celebrities to tackle the show’s central question: “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?”

According to guest stars Natasha Leggero and Ron Funches, who will face off on an upcoming episode of the new show, Taylor Swift was not off limits when it came to joking with Travis Kelce.

Travis Kelce endured “subtle jabs” from the duo, proving that even in a game of trivia, his connection to Taylor Swift is hard to escape.

As guest stars on “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?,” Natasha Leggero and Ron Funches revealed that Swift was fair game for jokes aimed at host Kelce. “There are certainly some Taylor Swift fans [on the show]. There’s some subtle jabs and jokes and references towards him, to see if we can get him to fully commit or not,” Funches told Us Weekly ahead of the show’s premiere. “We certainly were jabbing him.”

“He just kind of took them and gave us some back. He was really good,” Funches added.

Kelce and Swift officially announced their relationship in September 2023, and the couple has been cheering each other on ever since. Swift has been seen attending several Kansas City Chiefs games, while Kelce has been spotted in the audience at various stops on Swift’s Eras Tour.

As the Kansas City Chiefs enjoy a bye week, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift decided to take advantage of the time off as the couple had a romantic outing at Yankee Stadium on Monday, October 14, for the first game of the MLB American League Championship between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians.

The pop star and NFL player coordinated their looks in black, each sporting baseball caps—Kelce’s adorned with “Midnight Rodeo” while Swift opted for a simple, logo-less design. They both bundled up in black jackets to stay warm as the temperature dipped to around 50 degrees.

Last season, Swift attended 13 NFL games to support her boyfriend, including the Super Bowl, where she and Kelce shared a kiss on the field after the Chiefs clinched their second consecutive championship.

This season, she has kept the momentum going by showing up at Kelce’s home games and recently spent the weekend with him while Kansas City enjoyed a bye week with no scheduled NFL matchup.

Kelce will return to the field on October 20, when the Chiefs face off against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, marking a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl.

This 20-episode series, set to launch this week, is a spinoff of the original “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?,” which was famously hosted by actor and comedian Jeff Foxworthy.

The new iteration puts a fun twist on the classic format that debuted in 2007, which attracted a record-breaking 27 million viewers. Instead of children assisting an adult contestant, each episode features a classroom filled with celebrities who aid contestants in answering 11 elementary-level trivia questions.

The show boasts a star-studded lineup of celebrities, including comic Natasha Leggero, former NFL and Bengals quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, ex-Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson, Cincinnati-born comedian Nikki Glaser, and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Garcelle Beauvais, among others.

“Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” premieres on Prime Video on October 16.
