Tom Holland and Zendaya’s Height Difference: The Secret Behind Their On-Screen Chemistry That No One Saw Coming!

Added on October 14, 2025 inCelebrity News Cards

Ever wonder how a “short king” pulls off gravity-defying stunts without breaking a sweat—or a kneecap? Well, Tom Holland, standing a modest 5’8”, is proving that height ain’t nothing but a number, especially when he’s swinging through the Spider-Verse alongside his taller, 5’10” fiancée Zendaya. With Mars marching through adventurous Aries today, it’s the perfect cosmic setup for these two to tackle the physics of love and stunt choreography—she’s landing first, he’s trying to look cool (and mostly falling a little), and together, they turn it into pure magic. Care to explore how their height difference adds a quirky twist to their blockbuster antics and off-screen romance? LEARN MORE

Spider-Man star Tom Holland is worthy of the title ‘short king’ as the slightly diminutive actor demonstrated how he and partner Zendaya made some of their stunts work.

Holland’s got three Spidey movies under his belt and he’s got another one on the way in the form of Spider-Man: Brand New Day where he’ll once again be joined by his fiancée.

Since she’s been playing Spider-Man’s love interest, there’s been a few stunts where he swings around and carries her, but they’ve got a height difference which makes landing from the web-swinging stunts a mite tricky.

Fortunately the couple is sweet enough to make it all work, as they handily demonstrated during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

Holland stands around 5’8 while Zendaya is 5’10 ,so she’s got a couple of inches of height on him, and it means she lands before he does during stunts.

It was Norton who first brought it up, prompting a sarcastic ‘thank you, Graham‘ from Tom Holland before he admitted it was a ‘good story’.

Zendaya explained: “He’s supposed to gently rest MJ on the bridge and walk away from her, because of our height difference if we’re on the same like point I would land before him because my feet obviously hit the ground before he does.”

At this point Tom took over telling the story as he explained there was a ‘bottom mark’ which is ‘designed to stop you shattering your kneecaps’, but their height difference led to some issues.

“So Zendaya would land and I’m the superhero, I’m supposed to look cool, and she would land and then I would sort of land like this,” he said, getting out of his seat to demonstrate the next bit with his partner.

“My feet would swing from underneath me and then I would sort of land like this.”

Once they were done demonstrating Tom was stood on one leg with the other in the air being held up by Zendaya, drawing a big laugh from the show’s audience.

The couple first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016 and it was several years later in 2021 before they confirmed they were in a relationship together. Besides the details of web-swinging stunts, they largely keep their private lives private, but he has said their relationship is the ‘best thing’ that’s happened to him.

It also turns out her family likes to call him ‘Spider-Man’ as footage of them together at a party surfaced.

As far as nicknames go, it’s pretty cool, and he is Spider-Man.
