A Los Angeles judge recently signed off on a six-figure judgment in Haddish’s favor, ordering her former friend, Trizah Morris, to pay up. The judgment follows a messy legal back-and-forth that began after Haddish was served court papers during a comedy event in 2023.

Tiffany Haddish’s longtime ex-friend accused her of grooming her children when they were minors.

Haddish secured a major win in court, and her former friend now owes her six figures, with the amount increasing by the day. Morris, who once had a close relationship with Haddish, filed a defamation lawsuit in 2023 against both Haddish and fellow performer Aries Spears.

The case did not go her way. A judge tossed the lawsuit, and now Morris is on the hook for both stars’ legal fees. In Touch reports that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled Haddish is owed $111,165. That total is still climbing, with interest adding $30.46 to the debt every day it remains unpaid.

Haddish’s legal win over a former friend marked the end of a lawsuit that had been two years in the making. Back in August 2023, while hosting a comedy event at the Laugh Factory on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood, Haddish was served with legal papers.

The moment gave Morris the green light to move forward with a $1 million defamation case tied to skits filmed in 2014 involving Morris’ children. The Blast reported that the ex-friend described Haddish as a close family figure, with her kids even calling the comedian “Auntie Tiff.”

The service happened just before 7 PM at the club’s side entrance while Haddish hosted a show featuring young comics.

In her 2023 defamation lawsuit, Morris alleged that both Haddish and Spears made false and damaging remarks that led to her being labeled a scammer online.

Morris reportedly reached out to Haddish’s legal team in February of that year, asking for a statement to clear her name. She claimed Haddish personally called her in March and promised to publicly address the rumors if they came up during press for her upcoming films.

According to Morris, the 45-year-old allegedly said, “The media isn’t talking about it right now. I have four movies coming out this year, and I am going to be doing a lot of press. If it comes up, I’ll be sure to mention it.”

But Morris noted that Haddish instead made negative comments during an interview, prompting her to pursue the lawsuit and seek a seven-figure payout.

Before Morris sued Haddish for defamation in 2023, the stand-up comedian had already dealt with serious accusations. In September 2022, Haddish and colleague Aries Spears were sued over alleged child abuse tied to old comedy skits.

However, by October, the case was dropped, and Haddish quickly took to social media to make her stance clear. The Blast reported that she thanked God for “redecorating” her life, even though the changes initially made her uncomfortable.

The post read, “God has been redecorating my life lately, and I must say at 1st I was very uncomfortable. But I see where he is going with it, and I am so much better off. Thank You God! You are the best at getting rid of the mess. (and when I say mess, you know who and what I mean, God) Amen.”

When a fan replied, wishing her well and hoping she would not get canceled, Haddish fired back confidently, “Only one cancel me is God!”

Tiffany Haddish Loves Her Money

Still on the topic of money, Haddish caught attention with a strange Instagram video in which she appeared to passionately kiss and caress a dollar bill. In the clip, Haddish sported a blue and white top, black pants, dark sunglasses, and messy curls.

She held a dollar bill and treated it like a lover, kissing it and even spanking herself with the money while lying on the floor. The actress ended the video declaring her love for the dollar, pleading, “Please don’t leave me, please don’t leave me, I love you so much, I love you so much!”

Captioning the post, Haddish explained, “My relationship with money for the last 10 years? We have had our ups and downs over the years, but we are growing stronger than ever.”

This ruling firmly closes the chapter on Tiffany Haddish’s long legal battle.
