There’s a heartwarming Easter egg to be found in the background screens of Oasis’ tour, it’s been revealed.

With two Cardiff gigs already under their belt, the iconic rock band’s reunion tour is well underway, with brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher seemingly happy to be on stage together for the first in 16 years.

For major stadium performances, artists are more often than not supported by giant LED imagery to enhance the experience, and these Manchester rockers are no different.

However, it seems that Liam has added a touch of home to the Oasis projection.

Happy Doggo sanctuary worker Niall Harbison pointed fans’ attention towards it in a social media thread over the weekend.

While the band was blasting out ‘Roll With It’ at one of their Cardiff shows, the kaleidoscopic visuals featured Liam’s rescue dog Buttons.

“Most people were probably looking at @liamgallagher and @oasis last night on stage. Look a little closer and you’ll spot a dog called Buttons. Her’s is a remarkable story,” Niall wrote.

“Buttons was a little puppy who walked into our sanctuary in Thailand in the middle of the jungle just as it was getting built. She had been abandoned. She kept coming back daily for food and hoping for company.

“Day after day Buttons came back. I eventually took her in and put her up for adoption.”

Unbeknownst to him, Liam and his fiancée Debbie Gwyther had been keeping checks on Buttons’ journey and after a ‘long process’, welcomed the pooch into their home.

“Buttons has grown into a beloved member of the family and landed on her paws,” Niall added. “Liam has been a big supporter of @wearehappydoggo and donated his globe from the last tour to raise funds. I don’t think Buttons realises her dad is a rock star. She just loves her humans.

“So if you are wondering why there is a dog on the @oasis screens now you know. Well done Buttons. I think you can say you’ve made it when your dad has you on the big screen.”

Liam himself was asked about adopting Buttons during an interview on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show.

Weighing in on her origins, he told the talk show host: “We follow this geezer, this Irish lad who rescues them when they’ve been all battered and stuff, and beat up and that, so we fell in love with Buttons and then he flew her over from Thailand and then got her on the ferry from Amsterdam.”

Jonathan replied: “That is a well travelled dog! It’s weird, until you get a dog I don’t think you realise how much you’re gonna love that animal…”

“Yeah it’s terrible man,” agreed his guest. “I don’t wanna go on tour no more. I want to stay at home with her. She’s perfect man.”

At the end of 2024, Liam was honoured with a PETA award for rescuing Buttons and raising tens of thousands for the animal charity Happy Doggo.

“Thanks for the award,” the singer responded. “Rescuing Buttons has been the best decision we’ve ever made. She brings so much happiness to our lives and everyone she meets.

“We’re so lucky to have her. We’re obsessed. I thoroughly recommend adopting a homeless dog.”
