I know I talk a lot about reading — because yes, I’m a big book nerd. But (if you can imagine), I’m an even bigger music nerd. I went to school for music. I’ve been playing since before I could even read it. I even went through the Royal Conservatory, doing theory, history, and practical exams. This. Is. My. Shit. So I figured it was only a matter of time before I came on here to see if any fellow music nerds are out there.
So whether you’ve been practicing scales since you were six years old or can’t carry a tune in a bucket, it’s time to see how well you can recognize these musical terms and symbols. Here we go…

I feel like so many people end up in piano lessons or music classes at some point, so while you’re hanging out in the comments, describe your music teacher in a few words. My childhood piano teacher would always joke about how big his nose was. It’s funny, cause as a child, I never even noticed. Maybe he made fun of it so his students wouldn’t? Still, it stuck with me after all this time.
