The tension’s been building through the week, and BOOM – the t-square’s stress just smacked us all in the face. Yet with that, we’ve got the chance to spring forward, much like the author attempting to string a bow after years of rust. Sure, the way forward might look daunting, especially after observing others try and try again to solve a problem, only to realize that sometimes, the solution was never the point, but the lesson was.

This weekend, with Mars opposing Pluto, it might feel like you’re staring down a particularly stubborn piece of Arrogance. But fear not. That ego-nip? That’s your reminder to:

  • Lean into humility
  • Agknowledge that yes, you're a mighty hunter/philosopher/warrior. But even such greats needs help sometimes.Do be afraid to ask for it.

Keep your head up though, because Sunday’s Taurus Moon aligning with Venus means spiritual growth is paired, up with physical rewards. Imagine. Imagine it like this: you’re trying to string a bow, bending, pushing, it’s all primal energy and maybe.. a bit of stubbornness? But then, your daughter steps in for a little assist – BOOP! – and,
life! Sorted, physical obstacles become psychic piñatas, with good will spilling out all over the place.

This weekend, we learn our lessons, get punched in the ego now and again then we string our bows. The challenge comes,, visibly tied to a bounty of spiritual resources, suggesting that as the Taurus moon meets the Sun, the Aries Moon aligns with Chiron in an impressive cosmic geo.

Where does that Taurus new moon hit your chart, and how will the tension release in the weekend's? Once plans haveins and revelries planned to ride this astrological rollercoaster – roll with it.

Friday afternoon, the Aries Moon launches itself from a trine to Leo Mars into conjunction with free-wheeling Mercury. Coming at the end of a tense week of the fixed t-square, the collective mood is energized, active, and up for a chat and a ramble.

Roll your curiosity into a good time. This is a lousy moment to sit back and let the world go by. Get up and follow it out into the street. The more stimulation you seek, the bigger the effect on your mind and senses. Need better self esteem, better digestion, better sleep? Take a walk, and take it all in. You’ll find fellow feelers on your way. Be bold, say hello.

That t-square is tight. The Taurus Sun perfected its square to Aquarius Pluto on Wednesday, but the Mars-Pluto opposition won’t pop till Saturday night. In any case, this week’s experience has provided insight into those areas of personal effect. One good smack to the ego reduces the novelty of the situation — once the sting fades. There’s no way to go but forward and out.

I watched my dad and my uncle spend a half hour figuring out how to string my old bow at a family party. They really took the long way around the problem. I was kind of a dick about it afterward, making an offhand remark about how they did it the hard way. So my uncle handed me the bow and said, “We put it on upside down. How about you fix it?” I did, but I realized it’s a lot harder to do when it’s been 40 years (and I’m not as strong) and people are watching. He schooled me. BOOM.

The reason I was a dick was because my uncle is COOL and I wanted to be COOL around him. That didn’t work; but he was nice about it because he’s COOL.

I didn’t help because I didn’t know what they were doing initially; still, I didn’t have to make the stroppy remark. There was immediate snapback. Why? Because we don’t make fun of people for trying to do hard things. So I got an ego-nip. There I was, winding myself around that recurve bow, bending it with the force of my whole body as I tried to coax the loop over the tip — trying not to blind myself in the process and looking like an asshole. It’s pretty expressive of that t-square, and the lesson for me was clear.

This weekend we’ve already gotten the ego nip, but now we string the bow. It will show up in tune with the matters of the houses it hits in your chart.

Saturday night, the Aries Moon conjoins Chiron right before Mars perfects its opposition to Pluto. Take your lumps and learn your lesson before you do the hard thing. Humbling yourself is hard if you’re too ego-invested. There’s no room for a fired-up ego when you’re entering the arena to do something dangerous (or responding to someone else’s intense action).

At the last moment, bending the bow, trying to get the string over the tip, I asked for help. My daughter made the difference that saved my bacon. BOOP! She popped it over the top. Don’t be afraid or too proud to ask for help. That’s part of the lesson too. If I hadn’t asked for help (or given up), I might have been injured.

Sunday morning, the Venus-ruled Taurus Moon moves through the point of a t-square with the past-exact Mars-Pluto opposition — still tight tho. Invisibly tied to Venus at the end of Pisces, this challenge to the mood funnels a cornucopia of spiritual resources into the mix as the Moon glides into conjunction with the Sun for the new moon midday.

Keep your wits about you and balance your affronted ego. Eyes on the prize means tangible results from the spiritual upgrade. A psychic piñata. The Taurus Moon then opposes Vesta in Scorpio. Ultimately, our standoff with our own nature invokes passion for a goal that benefits others as well. Our individual quest inevitably hooks us back into profound connection to something outside ourself.

The Taurus new moon fresh start is a bold and stout new path that capitalizes on the powerful, fiery intensity of the week’s challenges. The way forward is substantial, robust, and hard won. We’re better for it. We become more, have more to offer.

The new moon takes place midday Sunday at 7 degrees Taurus. Where does that hit your chart, and where is the tension mounting in your life? Do you have any weekend plans?
