The TLC star announced on the premiere of the show’s sixth season that her weight loss surgery helped her shed those pounds and practically gave her a new life.
“Now that I’ve lost so much weight, I’m able to do things that I never would have been able to do,” she said in the episode’s confessional and then added, “I think people do take the small things for granted.”
Tammy added that she can now cross her legs and put her shoes on while sitting comfortably on the toilet seat. According to In Touch, the new feat is a welcome development in the reality star’s book, as she claimed she has never been able to go that range with her weight.

While her experience left her with notable highs, the 38-year-old admitted that the flabby skin left behind by the pounds she lost occasionally casts a shadow of sadness on her journey.
“I get rashes under my stomach and that can get infected. And even though my mobility has gotten better, I kind of have to walk a little bow-legged because it’s dangling right there,” the reality star explained as she pointed to the loose skin between her legs.
The hardworking TV personality who proudly shared her transformation with the world expresses her readiness to get skin removal surgery to address the issue.

The star announced in a TikTok clip with her friends that they had collectively lost 2,078 pounds as the figure 500 appeared on the screen. In the caption, Tammy wrote:
“Truly absolutely amazing ladies, and I’m happy to call y’all my friends. I’m so proud of each and every one of y’all not only are you beautiful on the inside but your gorgeous on the outside never forget.”
She also expressed concern about hitting the ideal body fat percentage needed to carry out the excess skin removal surgery. As she stepped into the Bod Pod machine used to measure body fat percentage, Tammy discovered she had a total of 53.6 percent body fat and weighed 308 pounds.

“Last time I saw Dr. Smith, I was around 420 pounds. So, I’ve lost about 100 pounds since nine months ago, and if my body fat right now is like 53 percent and I’ve lost like half of my weight, it had to have been over 100 before surgery,” explained the TLC star.

While The Blast noted the reality star said taking vitamins was her least favorite part of the entire journey, she did not hesitate to endorse a brand that made it easier for her to meet her vitamin counts around the clock.
Tammy disclosed that her surgeon, Dr Eric Smith, created the vitamin line specially designed for bariatric surgery patients.
She explained that the newly developed line was created with a focus on patients undergoing or recovering from weight loss surgery to help them heal faster and better.
Last year, the reality star replied to a mean comment that poked fun at her voice and her breathing and quizzed when she would get rid of her “gobbler.”
Tammy, who was upset by the comment, explained that doctors would decide when the time is right for her to go in for surgery. She also expressed her pride in embracing her journey despite dealing with self-image issues and doubts.
She also addressed her breathing in the video and noted that she decided to keep things quiet because she did not want to wake the house up.
Tammy Slaton’s tenacity is enviable and gives hope to everyone who continues to root for her on her journey toward a healthy future.
