Sydney made global headlines just over a month ago as she slipped her curves into an array of American Eagle outfits, but it was the blonde-haired, blue-eyed white girl saying she has “good genes” that sparked the most outrage.

Sydney having “great genes” might have erupted the digital space, but it also boosted American Eagle’s stock by 25%. At the end of last month, the label issued a statement amid the controversy it had caused, but there was zero apology as fans sent out allegations of racism and white supremacy.

“‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone,” American Eagle wrote.

Sydney Sweeney has promoted her Americana movie since the drama campaign, alongside appearing at the TIFF for her latest Christy boxing biopic.

“I am there to support my movie and the people involved in making it, and I’m not there to talk about jeans,” she told Vanity Fair ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival.
