A former military police officer was killed on Monday morning (7) after going out for a walk with his dogs on Rua Formosa, in Jardim Guanabara, Ilha do Governador. Video obtained by G1 shows a car stopping in front of former police officer André da Silva Aleixo and shooting at him.

G1 found out that Aleixo was currently known as a sort of manager of crime on Ilha do Governador and in São Gonçalo, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio.

Wearing hoods, the criminals got into the car and fled. When they noticed a woman screaming in the middle of the street, the car reversed to shoot Aleixo again. Police officers from the 17th Battalion (Ilha do Governador) were called to the scene and found the former police officer dead on the street. The area was cordoned off and forensics were called in.

In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the Capital Homicide Division (DHC) is investigating the case and is trying to find information that will lead to the perpetrators of the crime. || Posted by CZ
