‘Supernatural’ Cast Reunion Takes a Dark Turn: Star Drops Jaw-Dropping Trump vs. Evil Monster Comparison You Won’t Believe!

Added on December 5, 2025 inTV News Cards

So here we are, two decades after “Supernatural” first took us on a wild ride through demon-infested highways and celestial chaos — and yep, the cast still knows how to bring the heat. Picture this: a thunderous crowd in São Paulo, Brazil, packed tighter than a Mercury-in-Retrograde traffic jam, belting out “Carry on Wayward Son” like it’s an anthem for, well, fighting your own personal monsters. Now, isn’t it kinda cosmic that while the stars have been busy tossing surprises our way, Misha Collins cheekily suggested taking on the ultimate “monster” — none other than Donald Trump — getting the crowd roaring louder than a Leo in a spotlight? Meanwhile, Kathryn Newton’s still dreaming of spinoffs where her character Claire keeps kicking ass — because no matter the celestial shuffle, there’ll always be monsters to hunt and stories to tell. What does this reunion say about our need to confront real and imagined beasts alike? Guess we’re all still “Supernatural” at heart. LEARN MORE

Supernatural fans made it clear that they were thrilled about the cast’s latest reunion — and that was even before a barb about President Donald Trump seemed to conjure up positive feelings from the boisterous crowd.

Former co-stars Misha Collins, Kathryn Newton, Jim Beaver and Rob Benedict, along with show director Richard Speight Jr., took the stage at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, on Thursday to celebrate 20 years of the series that launched in 2006. Among those who were not on hand for the reunion were Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who starred as the demon-hunting Winchester brothers on the show that signed off in November 2020 after 15 seasons.

Fans of the show packed the floor of the São Paulo Expo to get a glimpse of the program’s team, and the crowd made their excitement known with loud and frequent cheers. This included singing along to Kansas’ “Carry on Wayward Son” during the event’s introduction, given that the classic rock tune became a signature song for the show.

“When we’re back home in the U.S., nobody pays any attention to us anymore,” Collins told the crowd. “But here, there must be a lag or something because you still know what Supernatural is.”

The actor known for playing Castiel got a big response just before the end of the panel with a politically charged response to a fan question. After someone in the crowd asked Newton what kind of monster she would want to face — the actress, who recurred as Claire on the series, chose dragons — Collins seized the moment to comment on the current presidential administration.

“You mean like, what kind of an evil monster character would we want to go up against?” Collins asked for clarification. “I think it’d be fun to take on Donald Trump.”

This spurred a significant cheer from the onlookers, leading Collins to add, “We’ve found our people. So, not a big MAGA crowd here?” The moderator did not respond to his remarks and promptly moved along to a video portion of the event.

Earlier in the conversation, the moderator asked Newton what she would imagine Claire might be doing if the character were to ever get a spinoff. “I’m sure Claire’s out there, still kicking ass and taking names,” Newton responded. “There’s always going to be monsters, and somebody’s always got to find them.”
