Spencer Pratt is not backing down in his battle against the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP).
The reality star, who, among thousands, lost his home in the Pacific Palisades due to a fire outbreak on New Year’s Eve, is determined to hold those responsible accountable. In this bid, he calls out the Governor and Mayor of the City of Angels, claiming their negligence contributed to the spread of the fire.
Spencer Pratt is not facing this fight alone, as his wife, Heidi Montag, shows her support by backing him on the lawsuits, and fans from social media send well-wishes and donations.

Pratt is beaming with assurance that his lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, which he launched earlier this year with his wife, Heidi, and other affected citizens, is going to be ruled in his favor.
The wildfire was started by a suspected arsonist now in custody. It spread rapidly, wiping out the whole Palisades neighbourhood and claiming some lives.
Although the TV star, his wife, and two sons were able to escape unharmed, Pratt, ready to fight his cause in court, also accuses the LADWP, claiming that they failed to maintain an adequate water supply system to fight the blazes.

To keep the lawsuit’s developments in the news, Pratt utilizes his social media presence to update the public and has also recently called out California Governor Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass, claiming their negligence contributed to the slow control of the fire’s spread.

Pratt spoke to DailyMail, expressing his feelings about the wildfire, which forced thousands to be homeless. He is confident that this case would not be swept under the rug even after the Uber driver, Jonathan Rinderknecht, has been arrested and charged with maliciously starting the ruinous fire.
He explains that because the fire was not adequately contained, it rekindled, and Newsom, as well as the state, has a fair share of blame. “They allowed a fire to smolder for a week without doing anything to mitigate it,” he said before adding that the arrest of the suspect validates his argument on the case.

In August, Pratt traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with Attorney General Pam Bondi and other federal officials to discuss the situation and the Governor’s plans of building low-income housing developments in the opulent Palisades.
As he updates the public using his platform, Pratt has been labelled as a Political activist, a title he strongly rejects, saying, “I’m not a political activist. My home burned down. My dad’s home burned down. Twelve people died. It should never have happened, and I want justice.”

Pratt and Heidi did not go solo in their fight for justice. The couple was backed by about 20 other property owners who also noted that the city of LA had delayed repairing the Santa Ynez Reservoir, which caused it to be empty for almost a year before the outbreak on January 7.
The lawsuit filed by Pratt and his wife not only drew support from the public but also drew criticism.
News of the lawsuit was shared on the pop-culture subreddit, and some commenters criticized the couple’s actions, stating that they had already received donations from “poorer people” and thus should not pursue the case.
Another wrote that they do not deserve any sympathy, while some wrote ill of Heidi’s music. The Blast also reported that Others supported the couple writing “Let’s sue them for being d-uchebags,” while another wrote that every resident should sue the government for the fire.

Not only did Pratt lose his home, but his parents were also affected by the fire, leading to the loss of his childhood home as well. In an interview, he revealed his emotional struggles as he tries to move on from the tragic incident.
The Blast reported that Pratt disclosed his parents’ decision to put up the remains of their burnt house for sale, a home they had held and lived in for forty years. He added that, even though it is a difficult choice, considering the current cost of rebuilding, he might follow in their footsteps.
The TV personality also shared how he felt about the incident, saying he tries not to think about it as if it did not happen, adding, “If you try to process it, it’s just like spiraling out.
Heidi stressed that neither she nor her husband asked for help from their fans following the tragic turn of events, as she had no expectations from them. Reports also show that Pratt insists he has no net worth, claiming he and his wife are not rich celebrities, contrary to public opinion.
In light of the events, two friends of the couple from TikTok helped create a GoFundMe for them, stating that people wanted to donate financially to them. The goal was to raise $200,000, and contributions came flooding in.
Heidi expressed gratitude by issuing an update to the public for all the forms of support and kindness they received. She wrote that the kind actions of everyone who helped have given them the strength to carry on.
