Selena Gomez and Eva Longoria brought their A-game to Season 4, Episode 3 of *Only Murders in the Building*, and let’s just say—these ladies were absolutely unstoppable!

Now, don’t get me wrong! Martin Short and Steve Martin—those two icons—definitely had their moments with their movie-star shenanigans. But when you set Mabel and her doppelgänger Mahbel in the spotlight, you can’t help but crown them the true queens of this episode!

Honestly, I can’t help but daydream about a full-fledged show starring Gomez and Longoria as they join forces! It would be beyond fabulous! They were so much fun to watch together!

Picture this: our trio’s Hollywood-lookalikes hitting New York for some “character study” escapades, as Oliver so charmingly called it, courtesy of the Brothers sisters. And of course, the timing couldn’t have been worse, since Detective Williams had just served up some hot tea regarding Sazz’s murder!

As you might imagine, Mabel and Charles were completely against the idea of letting Longoria, Levy, and Galifianakis tag along while they were deep-diving into their investigation—especially with that juicy intel from Williams weighing on their shoulders. But Oliver? He was just ecstatic because this was his chance to show off and, in his mind, get Galifianakis to “fall in love” with his character! Talk about high hopes—I still chuckle thinking about how that played out.

With little choice but to let the star trio in on the action, they turned out to be oddly helpful at moving the investigation forward! Who would’ve thought a few big names could lend a hand in solving a murder case? And along the way, it felt like everyone learned a thing or two about themselves—except for maybe Galafragalistik, who seemed a bit out to lunch!

The episode resonated with a “look in the mirror” vibe, reminiscent of Episode 1 of this season—pure gold! Mabel and Charles really emerged victorious amid all the chaos, but poor Oliver? He might have bitten off more than he could chew.

Now, let’s talk Oliver for a second! Seriously, when will he realize he doesn’t need to put up a facade for people to like him? His real friends love him for who he is, embellishments and flaws all included! It’s like he’s living in some cinematic fantasy and oblivious to the reality around him. But how long can that charade last before it starts to crumble?

On a poetic note, Oliver’s behavior mirrors that line from T.S. Eliot’s *The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock*: “There will be time, there will be time / To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet.” You see, he’s got this anxiety about wearing different masks to please everyone around him, which is just a recipe for disaster—it’s exhausting, just watching him!

Speaking of disaster, when Howard comes to Oliver’s defense after some not-so-nice remarks from Galafragalistik, Oliver soaked it all in—until Howard decided to list Oliver’s failures. Cue the awkwardness! You could practically feel the air shift as Oliver’s discomfort set in, worried that his cinematic idol would think less of him. Newsflash, buddy: pretty sure Galifianakis already knows how phony you are!

Now, moving on to Charles—our sensitive soul was in a whirlwind, grappling with Sazz’s absence while trying to cope with his merry band of movie stars. Eugene Levy really stepped up as the perfect secondary support for Charles, allowing him to find acceptance in being exactly who he is. And aren’t we all just a little bit relieved that Charles didn’t have to navigate his grief alone?

So here we are, facing the two main suspects: Vince Fish, aka “Stink Eye Joe,” and “The Christmas All the Time Guy,” whose real name Detective Williams casually revealed as Rudy Thurber. Ooh, the mystery thickens!

Speaking of detectives, the dream team learned that a bullet casing was found in Dudenoff’s apartment, leading to the shocking revelation that Sazz wasn’t the real target after all—it was Charles. Why, oh why, was the FBI stepping into what seems like a local drama? Sounds like we’re about to delve into a much bigger plot!

The antics didn’t stop there! Mabel and Mahbel were off investigating “The Christmas All the Time Guy,” with Charles and Levy pursuing Vince. In true slapstick style, they donned eye patches to coax Vince into revealing himself. Classic!

Here’s a thought—why was Vince so quick to shoo them out? Suspicious, right? And why, for the love of all that’s holy, did Charles and Levy decide to confront him as a “suspect?” Didn’t they learn their lessons about stirring up
