Shay is finally setting the record straight in her new memoir, “My Good Side.”
Hosting her “Scheananigans” podcast ahead of the book’s release, Shay explained why she waited to share details of her husband’s unfaithfulness.
She acknowledged per PEOPLE Magazine, “There are some things that I haven’t been as forthcoming about, or maybe that I never corrected the narrative on,” adding that fans only know “80% of me,” the rest, she promises, lives in the pages of her book.
She confessed, “Never shared my side of the story because I’ve been afraid, or thought, if I tell people what I’m actually going through, then they’re gonna think that I’m trying to take the attention off what someone else is going through, and make it about me.”

That concern, she said, prevented her from being vulnerable on reality TV or her podcast.

On the podcast recorded July 4, Scheana Shay teased her readers by promising “a couple moments that will really surprise people,” moments that include her husband’s betrayal.
She reflected, “I think people think they know everything about me, but after reading this book, you will, because you 100% do not right now.”
Shay confirmed that the memoir offered her the rare chance to “make it about me,” a shift she embraced wholeheartedly.
She noted, “In my book, I get to make it about me, and you’ll hear the sides of my story that I have never shared until now in the book, in my own words, with my control of the narrative for once.”
It is this empowerment, she says, that inspired her to share her full truth.

One of the most heartbreaking revelations in “My Good Side” details how Shay discovered Davies’s affair while pregnant with their daughter, Summer Moon.
In an emotionally charged excerpt published by Glamour, she shared, “I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer.”
The admission left her “completely sick to my stomach.”
She recounted Davies’s reason, noting that he was “scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be,” and “chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else.”
“I use the word ‘chose’ because it was very much a conscious decision. No one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed,” she revealed, emphasizing the deliberate betrayal.

Scheana Shay also shed light on how the affair began.
Brock reconnected with a woman he “had known since before we met,” outside his gym in San Diego.
Their encounters led to a “brief affair,” as she described it.
On “Watch What Happens Live” in April 2023, she asked, “Did she ever try?” Brock responded, “Absolutely not… He said he never put that energy off, and we know Sandoval did.”
At the time, Shay trusted Davies, but her new memoir reveals how that trust was nearly shattered.
Shay met Brock Davies in September 2019 at a San Diego music festival, sparking an instant connection.
They soon bonded over shared interests, especially music festivals, and vacationed together in Australia and Bali, where they first said “I love you.”
Their romance quickly blossomed, and by April 2020, they were Instagram official. After experiencing a miscarriage, they welcomed their daughter, Summer Moon, in April 2021.
Davies proposed in July, and they married in Mexico in August 2022.
Along the way, the couple has navigated parenthood, career milestones, and controversies, but remains together nonetheless.
