The Hollywood star shattered the notion that her high-profile marriage exempts her from monetary worries, explaining that she still feels the “pressure” to make her own money.

Salma Hayek previously noted that she was “offended” by the speculations that she married François-Henri Pinault for money.

In a Tuesday interview with the Wall Street Journal, the “Grown Ups” actress opened up about certain tension she has to make money despite being married to her billionaire husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, over the last 15 years.

Hayek tied the knot in April 2009 with the Kering CEO and Groupe Artémis president. However, she was seemingly plagued by allegations that their union was arranged and that she got married for money.

In their chat, she told the news outlet that “she and Pinault keep their finances separate” and that “there’s no prenuptial agreement dividing assets.”

“I support a lot of the aspects of my life and myself,” she explained. “I have the pressure to make a certain amount of money, and I like it. And now, I decided, I want to make more.”

The 58-year-old “Frida” actress then went further to detail how her marriage to Pinault, whose company owns luxury brands like Gucci and Saint Laurent, changed the relationship dynamics in her life.

She explained that after their wedding, “all people wanted to talk to me about was money,” adding that “the excitement about having a lot of money was that I didn’t have to think about money.”

Hayek noted that she was also approached by wealthy people who wanted to connect with her, saying, “Strangers coming to me that aren’t even friends, but they think we should be friends because they’re rich, too.”

Elsewhere, in another video interview on Tuesday, she weighed in on her enduring career, insisting that her “tenacity and consistency” have kept the doors open for her despite conventional Hollywood trends.

“What has opened the doors for me has been my tenacity [and] my consistency – I just won’t go away,” she said.

Hayek continued, “And it’s funny, just when they told me that after a certain age, your career is over – that’s when my career started getting better. They said, ‘You stop working at 40 in Hollywood,’ and here we are 58, I’m still working.”

It comes after the “Desperado” actress told Dax Shepard in an appearance on his “Armchair Expert” podcast that she was “offended” by the assumptions she got married to Pinault because of money.

At the time, the couple had just marked their 12th anniversary with Hayek declaring that they’re “strong in love” and claimed people don’t see the “magic” in her husband because they only focus on his wealth.

“You know the thing is that in pictures you cannot begin to guess the magic in him. He’s made me become a much better person, and grow in such a good, healthy way,” she said, per Daily Mail.

“And you know when I married him, everybody said, ‘Oh, it’s an arranged marriage, she married him for the money.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, whatever, b-tch.’ Think what you want: 15 years together, and we are strong in love,” she continued.

She added that rich men are often subjected to “discrimination” that makes them unworthy of real love, although she acknowledged that some people truly marry for money.

“Immediately you think because somebody’s rich, [they] might not be a good person,” she explained at the time. “Might be somebody materialistic, might be somebody that doesn’t have values, might be somebody that is even stupid or that doesn’t deserve it. In order to have a lot of money, you did it the wrong way; there is all this preconception.”

Away from her marriage, Hayek and fellow actress Nicole Kidman recently stirred up rumors of a feud after an eyebrow-raising incident between them.

A video of the pair seemingly engaged in an awkward situation outside the Balenciaga runway show late last month went viral recently. In the clip, they were surrounded by a swarm of paparazzi and photographers incessantly taking pictures.

When one of them asked for “one more” photo, Hayek used her hand to turn Kidman toward the camera, but she appeared to not be in the mood and pushed Hayek’s hand away before walking off.

According to Page Six, UK-based expert witness and forensic lip reader Jeremy Freeman decoded the ladies’ seemingly icy encounter.

“Let’s turn there. OK, here,” Hayek appears to have told Kidman, who purportedly replied, “Hey, I’m fine. I’m good. There, it’s enough. It’s OK.”

A source, however, told the news outlet that “there’s no bad blood between” the actresses and that they “adore each other.”
