Sabrina Carpenter Set to Shake Up the 2026 Grammys—But What Has Her Star Chart Predicting for Music’s Wildest Night?

Added on January 20, 2026 inMusic News Cards

If Mercury is in retrograde and Sabrina Carpenter is the zodiac’s reigning Gemini, does that mean the 2026 Grammys are destined to be twice as chaotic and three times as memorable? I couldn’t help but laugh out loud when I saw the official first performance announcement for Music’s Biggest Night—Sabrina, in her sparkly, showgirl glory, holding court once again. Are the stars literally aligning (or at least chaotically squabbling over who gets the best seat at the Crypto.com Arena) just for her? Maybe so! Anyway … as the cosmos does its mysterious moonwalk, Carpenter is waltzing back to the Grammy stage hotter than a mid-July Mars transit—fresh off last year’s unforgettable performance and riding a tidal wave of nominations, from Album of the Year to Best Pop Vocal Album . If anyone’s astrology chart screams “it girl energy,” it’s hers right now. And you know what? I have a sneaking suspicion that Venus is going to make sure Carpenter’s second go-around is a chart-topper (astro pun extremely intended) . Jupiter’s blessing or not, one thing’s for sure: this year’s ceremony—Trevor Noah’s swan song as host, CBS’s last waltz before Disney grabs the mic, and a best-of-the-best nominee list that’s out of this world—could be the most unpredictable Grammys we’ve had in years . Isn’t it cosmic? LEARN MORE

Sabrina Carpenter is set to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy confirmed Tuesday, tapping the pop star as the first confirmed artist to perform at Music’s Biggest Night on February 1.

It’ll be the second consecutive year Carpenter performs during the ceremony after she made her debut at last year’s show, where she had one of the most memorable performances of the evening with an old school showgirl routine of hits “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”

The Recording Academy is expected to be announcing more performers in the coming days.

Carpenter heads into the Grammys as one of the most-nominated acts as well, scoring nominations in album, record and song of the year for Man’s Best Friend and its lead single “Manchild.” Outside of the general field, Carpenter also got nominations in best pop solo performance, best pop vocal album and best music video. She won the Grammys for best pop vocal album and pop solo performance last year with Short n’ Sweet and “Espresso.”

Beyond Carpenter, those expected to contend for the biggest awards include Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny, all of whom are nominated in all three general field categories with album, song and record of the year.

The 68th Grammys will air on CBS and Paramount+ on February 1 at 5 p.m. This will mark the last year the show airs on CBS before it moves to Disney next year. This is also the last year Trevor Noah will serve as host, as the comedian was tapped to host his sixth and final Grammys last week.
