Ryan Reynolds has caused a bit of a stir as he seemed to make a joke about his wife, Blake Lively’s, legal battle with Justin Baldoni over the weekend.

The couple made an appearance at the Saturday Night Live (SNL) 50th Anniversary special last night (16 February) as people are pointing out the reaction from Kevin Costner as he began chatting.

Lively and Reynolds are both involved in lawsuits with Baldoni at the moment, following the summer movie, It Ends With Us. And it’s been pretty hard to ignore with much of the details being brought up publicly.

But the Deadpool star may have continued that when he seemed to poke fun at the situation during SNL alumni Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Q&A.

Out of the celebrity-packed audience, he stood up to say ‘I have a question’ with Fey asking: “Oh, Ryan Reynolds, how’s it going?”

And appearing to mock the whole on-going legal drama, he replied with a straight face: “Great – why, what have you heard?”

This was met with laughter in the studio as he went on to ask about the classic SNL Coneheads sketches.

But some eagle-eyed viewers have spotted a particular reaction from Kevin Costner, sat not far behind Reynolds.

While much of the audience smile and applaud him as the actor stands up, it seems the Yellowstone star’s eyes are firmly on Lively with no smile on his face.

Costner seems to be almost grimacing as he waits to see her reaction to Reynold’s comment, which also seemingly saw a bit of a shift in her demeanour.

Users took to social media to say: “Kevin Costner’s face said it all.”

“Loving Kevin Costner in the background. He is clearly not amused!” one wrote.

Meanwhile, many viewers said he was ‘thoroughly unimpressed’ by Reynolds as another said he was ‘not falling for it’.

One also added that they reckon Costner’s reaction made the star ‘look like a fool’ for making the joke, as some think it was inappropriate.

Lively’s team filed a lawsuit against Baldoni back in December, accusing him of sexual harassment and attempting to launch a smear campaign against her.

His team then filed on his behalf last month, claiming defamation against her and Reynolds. Baldoni’s attorney claims Lively and her team took certain measures to gain control over It Ends With Us.

His team call her claims ‘categorically false’, while her’s say his lawsuit is ‘another chapter in the abuser playbook’.

Since then, alleged texts messages , behind-the-scenes footage and a voice note have been released.

LADbible have contacted Costner’s reps for comment.
