So, here we are—unraveling the curtain on the final act of Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness himself. Turns out, his last encore was brought to a halt not by wild rock ‘n’ roll chaos but by the silent, deadly strike of a heart attack—a medical gremlin known as ‘acute myocardial infarction’ or, for those less inclined to the jargon, a classic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. It’s ironic, isn’t it? A guy who survived decades on the edge, battling fame, Parkinson’s, and life’s relentless headbanging, finally taken down by something as sneaky as a blood clot. If you ever wondered what the cosmos might say about this—well, with the Sun in Leo, pulsing with fiery life and pride, and Mars in protective Cancer, emotions run high and heart health becomes a mysterious dance of destiny and biology. Was the universe tapping its own drumbeat, reminding us all of mortality’s quiet shadow, even over a rock legend? Ozzy’s tale is a stark, somber riff on life’s fragility amid the roar of stardom. Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne’s cause of death has been confirmed in a death certificate filed at a registry in London.
It was confirmed that Osbourne died of a heart attack, confirmed in medical terms as ‘acute myocardial infarction’ and ‘out-of-hospital cardiac arrest’.
Acute myocardial infarction (MI) is a serious medical emergency caused by a blockage which stops the supply of blood to the heart, according to the NHS.
It is also known as a heart attack, and it is usually caused by a blood clot.
This can cause permanent damage to the heart tissue, resulting in death in the worst cases.
Blood clots can form as a result of a buildup of plaque in the coronary arteries, which is a massive health concern.
Osbourne’s daughter, Aimée Rose Osbourne, submitted the death certificate, which listed cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease among the causes, as well as his battle with Parkinson’s disease.

In his occupation, it read: “Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend.”
An air ambulance flew to the singer’s home, which is located in Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire, England.
Osbourne’s death was officially confirmed by his family on 22 July this year, in a statement that detailed that the rock artist died ‘surrounded by love’.
He publicly revealed that he was battling Parkinson’s in the final years of his life, which stopped him from performing as many shows as he’d have liked.
However, Ozzy went out with a bang last month, organising the ‘Back to the Beginning’ concert at Villa Park on 5 July.
It featured the likes of Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, and performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Slayer.
Osbourne performed with the original Black Sabbath line-up for the first time in 20 years in what was planned to be his final ever performance.

The concert was held at the home of Osbourne’s beloved Aston Villa FC, Villa Park, with millions tuning in to the show.
He urged the crowd to ‘let the madness begin’ at the start of his show, before emotionally stating: “I don’t know what to say, man, I’ve been laid up for like six years.
“You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
According to Tom Morello, the event’s musical director, they managed to raise £140m for charity, saying on Instagram: “We raised a ton of money for a great cause and so many great musicians, bands and fans all over the world paid tribute to the all time greats.”
Following his death, The Prince of Darkness’ final wish to have his funeral held in his hometown of Birmingham was held up by his wife, Sharon, as fans paid their respects to the rock legend.
