If it wasn’t already clear, Miley Cyrus does absolutely whatever she wants. From the musical risks she takes to the bold decisions she’s made in her dating life, she’s always been committed to doing things her way — when and how she wants.
This mindset also extends to her fashion choices — which is why she wasn’t exactly receptive when photographers recently told her to remove her sunglasses on the red carpet.
The moment happened Saturday as Miley was walking the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. While posing for photos, the singer whipped out a pair of sunglasses, prompting photographers to repeatedly shout, “No!”
Miley ignored them and put the glasses on anyway, before confronting the photographers directly.
“If you yell at me, I do the opposite,” she said.
“You know this,” she continued, approaching one photographer in particular. “I’ve known you for 20 years. If you tell me not to put the glasses on, I put them on.” She then appeared to say that if told differently, she’d “take the glasses off” before removing them and resuming her place on the red carpet.
In response to the clip, many fans praised Miley for standing her ground. “She handled herself well!” one Instagram user wrote. “I wouldn’t like them yelling at me, telling me what to do.”
Another stated, “DON’T tell Miley what TF to do!”
“Miley just taught a masterclass in confidence,” one more tweeted. “when life yells ‘fit in,’ she slides her shades back on and says ‘watch me shine my own way.'”
IDK about you, but if someone shouted at me like that on a red carpet, I probably would have put my glasses on, too. LMK your thoughts in the comments.
