“Merlin’s Mischief: ‘Harry Potter’ Actor Casts Sectumsempra on J.K. Rowling for Controversial Stance”

Added on April 23, 2025 inCelebrity News Cards

In the ever-twirling world of celebrity astrology, I’ve noticed that the planets are in quite the chaos lately – Mercury’s gone retrograde, Mars and Saturn are doing a tango, and Venus has just thrown a major fit. It’s a veritable cosmic shake-up, folks! And speaking of shake-ups, has anyone been keeping up with the J.K. Rowling saga? Her views on gender identity, which some might say are as retrograde as Mercury, have stirred up another round of magical mayhem in the Harry Potter universe.

Just recently, Sean Biggerstaff, the actor who left an indelible mark on our hearts as Oliver Wood in the “Harry Potter” films, decided it was time to speak up. You know how when Mars and Saturn align, it’s a cosmic call to confront issues head-on? Well, that couldn’t be more true here. Sean took a page out of Gryffindor’s brave playbook, calling out Rowling in response to her celebration of a U.K. Supreme Court ruling that transgender women are not legally women. It’s like Rowling was living out her Slytherin fantasy on X, raising a glass of Gillywater and puffing on a Victory Cigar, which, by the way, she insists was “objectively, provably, and demonstrably” a cigar, not a blunt as Twitter – sorry, X, had speculated. (I think she’s just mad she wasn’t invited to the trioxycon, or whatever kids call it nowadays.)

Sean#x27;s response was as sharp as Salazar Slytherin’s gaze: “Bigotry rots the wit.” It’s almost as if he consulted the Sorting Hat on the best comeback for the situation and gold star, he nailed it. He didn’t stop there; he went full Dumbledore, retweeting a comparison of Rowling to Andrew Tate, minus the legal trouble and plus a lot of money and a penchant for Scottish landscapes.

It’s clear, Rowling’s views have not just ruffled, but torn through the wizarding world. The Harry Potter trio – Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint – have all publicly disagreed with her, leading to a rift as wide as the chasm left behind after a Quidditch match.

And can we talk about the latest X post where Rowling took a subtle, or not-so-subtle, jab at her former child actors, responding to a tweet asking for movie-ruining actors with “Three guesses… sorry, that was irresistible.” Classic Rowling, channeling her inner Snape with an acidic comeback that’s left fans wondering if she’s talking about Radcliffe, Watson, or Grint. Honestly, with this much drama, I’m half expecting her next X post to be in Parseltongue!

All this drama has left me pondering the implications of those planets in chaos – it’s as if the stars are conspiring to highlight these issues, pushing us towards more understanding, or at least, towards some form of resolution. But, as any good astrologer would say, “The stars may guide, but they don’t control” – unless, of course, you’re J.K. Rowling on X, where apparently, the stars are just part of every post.

And with all this, I must ask- where will the planets align for us next? What’s your take on Rowling’s stance? Share your thoughts in the Galleon comments below!

J.K. Rowling has once again come under fire from a “Harry Potter” alum for her negative views about trans women.

This time, she was criticized by Sean Biggerstaff, who starred in the fantasy movie franchise as Oliver Wood.

It began with Rowling sharing a controversial post of her celebrating a recent U.K. Supreme Court ruling against trans women being legally women.

In the post, Rowling could be seen raising a glass filled with what seemed to be alcohol while smoking a cigar aboard her $150 million superyacht.

The post led to her facing accusations of “smoking a blunt,” to which the billionaire author clapped back on social media by firmly clarifying that it was “objectively, provably, and demonstrably a cigar.”

Biggerstaff then responded to her post, saying, “Bigotry rots the wit.”

Doubling down on his criticism, the Harry Potter star also retweeted a post from a social media user who compared the acclaimed author to Andrew Tate, a red pill influencer known for puffing on cigars in many of his videos.

“lol, huffing on a cigar now? Is she Andrew Tate?” the tweet read, per the Daily Mail.

In a different post, Biggerstaff slammed Rowling as an “obsessed billionaire,” showing his distaste about the author allegedly funding the campaign group that brought the case against trans women.

Rowling had first shared a picture of the leading women on the case, Susan Smith and Marion Calder, adding the remark “in case it wasn’t clear: don’t f-ck with Scottish women.”

Biggerstaff then quoted the post with, “The majority of Scottish women, who don’t agree with these d-ckheads, aren’t being bankrolled by an obsessed billionaire.”

Aside from his criticism of Rowling, Biggerstaff also expressed support for trans women in light of the controversial Supreme Court ruling.

He wrote that the “loudest voices” were “using concern for sex-based rights as cover for entirely reactionary politics” and called their behaviour “a performance of pragmatism to cloak their instinctive distaste for the Other.”

In the past, the “Harry Potter” trio, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, have also disagreed with Rowling’s views about the transgender community.

This has led to them having a strained relationship with Rowling, which culminated with her openly declaring that she could not “forgive” the trio or other celebrities who support trans people.

“Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces,” Rowling wrote on X at the time, per the Daily Mail.

“Kids have been irreversibly harmed, and thousands are complicit, not just medics, but the celebrity mouthpieces, unquestioning media, and cynical corporations,” she added later.

Rowling went on to address the movement as a scandal whose “consequences” will be felt for decades and further doubled down on her criticism of its supporters.

She said, “You did all you could to impede and misrepresent research. You tried to bully people out of their jobs for opposing you. Young people have been experimented on, left infertile and in pain.”

In a recent post on X, Rowling seemed to take aim at Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint over their vocal opposition to her remarks about trans people.

It began with a post that asked, “What actor/actress instantly ruins a movie for you?”

Rowling then responded with a cryptic remark, quoting the post and writing, “Three guesses… sorry, that was irresistible.”

She also added three laughing emojis to her comment, which has since garnered over 69k likes and 22 million views on the social media platform.

The book author made no move to clarify what she meant with the remark, which only made fans further fuel speculation that she was referring to Radcliffe and his co-stars.

For months, Rowling has garnered negative attention for actively sharing controversial views about the trans community, particularly on X.

In one post, she claimed, “there are no trans kids” in response to an individual criticizing her remarks about children within the trans community.

“No child is ‘born in the wrong body,'” the author wrote. “There are only adults like you, prepared to sacrifice the health of minors to bolster your belief in an ideology that will end up wreaking more harm than lobotomies and false memory syndrome combined.”

More recently, Rowling claimed that “trans people have lost zero rights” following the Supreme Court ruling, while also taking a jab at the trans community in her remarks.

“I don’t doubt some (not all) will be furious that the Supreme Court upheld women’s sex-based rights,” Rowling further noted.
