Ooops! Meghan Markle is not catching any break from critics, not even amid her acting return.

As always, the commentaries surrounding the business mogul’s reported cameo in the upcoming comedy flick featuring Lily Collins and many more are nowhere near exciting or encouraging.

Meghan Markle had previously pulled the plug on her acting career following her marriage to Prince Harry back in 2018, until now, which means her mind has changed on that decision.

The former working royal will reportedly feature alongside Collins, Jack Quaid, Brie Larson, and Henry Golding in the comedy that is still in the shooting phase. Meghan is expected to make a small cameo role in the project.

She and the main cast are also joined by “SNL” alum Melissa Villaseñor, and will also be joined by Natasia Demetriou, Anna Konkle, Patti Harrison, Jack Shalloo, and Dustin Demri-Burns.

The plot of the movie titled “Close Personal Friends” reportedly revolves around a couple who encounter a very famous couple during their trip to Santa Barbara. As soon as the couple got closer and became friends, things reportedly got complicated.

As confirmed by Variety, the movie is directed by Jason Orley, joining the gifted bands of Isaac Aptaker for the screenplay. Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are behind the wheel of production for the movie.

Unending opinions about Meghan’s new role soon flooded the internet, especially X, where one subscriber declared: “It’s hilarious because usually a cameo is from someone really famous or really interesting, neither of which she is.”

Another commenter assured everyone that the movie will definitely end up being dumped by most people because Meghan just does not have the range for acting.

A third X user added: “Where’s my list of movies to avoid because the team making it thinks that casting a non-working, attention-seeking, grifter Temu royal who dragged the Royal Family through the mud is a good idea? Check.”

This commenter noted that no one cares if Meghan made it back to acting or not, as her biggest trick yet was marrying into the royal family. Another critic tagged the movie as a failed attempt by Hollywood to produce great films for theatres.

Meghan and her beau, Prince Harry, also earned the desperate tag from another disgruntled fan who accused them of always running PR stunts whenever Prince William and Kate Middleton were in the news.

Despite these stinging comments, one X subscriber urged everyone to give Meghan her flowers for such great marketing, causing the whole world to talk about “Close Personal Friends.”

For the mother-of-two, this return to screen reportedly signifies a period in her career where she picks up one of the things she loves doing after a few years away. A source revealed to Mirror UK that the actress has indeed been approached with comeback offers a dozen times, which she has rejected.

However, this upcoming project feels like the perfect fit for the “As Ever” founder, who sees it as a way of “gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set.”

Everyone in Meghan’s camp has also reportedly sworn an oath of secrecy about divulging exclusive information about the production to the public. As for her husband, the Duke of Sussex is beyond proud of his wife’s current feat and has been crucial in pushing her to do whatever brings her closer to happiness.

Meghan seemingly shut the door on acting and the TV world when she quit that viral legal drama in 2017, shortly before she married Prince Harry the following year. According to PEOPLE, Meghan described her decision at that time as a “change” and not “giving anything up,” as narratives are suggesting.
