As we approach the end of Blue Bloods, it feels like we’re bracing for a dramatic exit ramp, but let’s be real—who thought the journey would be bumpy thanks to some of those pesky recurring characters? I mean, I’m not saying every guest star has to be a winner, but seriously, can we just say goodbye to the ones we don’t particularly like? It seems Blue Bloods is keeping things interesting (and slightly annoying) as Frank finds himself once again clashing with Mayor Chase in Season 14, Episode 12. Spoilers ahead hint that while this may not be the last we see of her, let’s hope it’s the last we see of this friction. With Frank’s integrity always in play, the stakes are higher than ever for our beloved Reagan family. Ready to unpack this episode’s twists and turns with me? Buckle up, and let’s dive in! Blue Bloods ending is hard enough without recurring characters I don’t like.

Sadly, Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12 spoilers follow up last week’s annoying visit with the Archbishop with Frank going head-to-head with Mayor Chase again.

This won’t be Chase’s last appearance since spoilers for the wrap-up say Frank goes on a mission to help protect the mayor from bad actors, but hopefully, it’s the last time Frank butts heads with this particular mayor.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12 Spoilers Involve A Retired Cop In Jail

Frank’s problem with the mayor this time is that he wants to release a retired cop from jail.

This is par for the course with Frank and most mayors, especially this one. Frank is a man of integrity and doesn’t want cops getting special treatment, particularly ones who break the law.

Frank is right that cops should be treated the same way everyone else is. He models this himself constantly by not giving special treatment to his sons when they mess up on the job.

Unfortunately, Chase doesn’t see it that way. From his perspective, Frank is nothing more but a contrarian who opposes everything Chase wants to do.

At the beginning of the season, the two seemed to come to some understanding, though I didn’t think Frank should have caved about not attending Chase’s press conference.

Now they’re back on opposite sides, but some type of reconciliation will have to occur before Frank’s final mission.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12 spoilers don’t give us much more information about this story than that, but I’m curious whether this cop has been on the series before.

Frank has had to make the heartbreaking decision to discipline or arrest rogue cops before, and he’s come across a couple of retired ones who did stupid things.

It would make sense to bring a cop from a previous storyline back for the final season so that the audience can get closure.

However, this police procedural has been on for so many years that I’ve forgotten a lot of what came before, so this person may not be recognizable even if they are from a previous episode.

Danny Works With A British Investigator

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12 spoilers promise an interesting case for Danny.

Whenever he has to work with guest actors, it elevates the already high-quality episode to the next level.

Both of Lyle Lovett’s guest appearances were fun, and there have been a few plot twists where Danny has to work with a criminal he arrested to get a bigger fish.

This time, Danny will be working with a British investigator to pursue a deadly international fugitive.

I’ve long wished for a Blue Bloods/Law & Order: Organized Crime crossover so that Danny could do this kind of thing with Elliot Stabler, but since that’ll never happen, I’ll take this guy as a replacement.

While Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12 spoilers don’t say so, I wonder if the fugitive they’re chasing is Carlo Ramirez.

Ramirez escaped in a helicopter after letting his young daughter go on Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 11, and it’s unusual for Blue Bloods to let that be the end of the story.

Ramirez will likely be back sometime before the series ends, so Danny and his new friend might as well find him now and get it over with.

Sadly, when Danny does these types of episodes, Baez is usually sidelined, which makes it harder to develop their relationship further.

Besides, she complements Danny well and is easily the best partner he’s ever had, so I always miss her when she’s not part of the story.

Jamie’s Latest Undercover Assignment Involves A Gambling Website

Jamie looks good in a suit, and his case sounds interesting, too.

According to Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12 spoilers, Jamie is tasked with investigating a gambling website that is suspected of scamming users.

These types of websites and apps are all too common nowadays.

I can’t play a mobile game without three or four pop-up ads for apps that supposedly pay users to play, and there are also apps that let users play poker and other games online for real money.

Jamie investigating this type of website is an interesting twist on the usual TV tropes about illegal gambling.

This story doesn’t sound like it’s about illegal bookies threatening customers who don’t pay up or cops who have gambling problems. Instead, it’s a good, old-fashioned bunko investigation into a supposed business that is scamming people.

It sounds a lot lower stakes than Jamie’s last undercover gig in a sex trafficking operation, but some scammers can get violent.

This storyline also makes me think of when Henry helped his neighbor after she fell victim to a scam targeting senior citizens.

Stopping scammers might not be the flashiest type of police work, but it’s an important public service.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12 Spoilers Say Crawford Is Back

Crawford, in case you’ve forgotten, is Erin’s boss who generally thinks Erin can’t do anything right.

I don’t know where she was while Erin was being accused of jury tampering. Thankfully, she kept her two cents to herself during that story.

However, this time Crawford has another reason for being the type of character I’d never hang out with if I had a choice.

She’s pressuring Erin to indict an officer, which Erin likely doesn’t have the evidence to do yet, or she would have done it.

Kudos to Crawford for being the opposite of Mayor Chase, but you can’t snap your fingers and indict someone because it looks good politically.

As a seasoned DA, she should know this, but it doesn’t sound like she does.

Can this be another character who returns for only one last episode? I don’t need her taking part in the series wrap-up.
