Mark Ruffalo’s "Task" Is Brewing Some Serious Spooky Vibes — But What Dark Secrets Are Lurking Beneath the Surface?

Searching for something new to stream and have no idea what to pick? HBO has done it again with their latest original series, Task.

The creator of Mare of Easttown is behind the show, which means three things: crime, drama, and A LOT of twists and turns to unpack as the season unravels.

We’re only two episodes in, and things have already started to get MESSY.

Mark Ruffalo portrays Tom Brandis, an FBI agent who’s put in charge of leading a task force.

The mission? Crack the case of who’s committing a series of robberies targeting a local motorcycle gang in Philadelphia’s suburbs.

Specifically, they’re looking for these guys in the ~spooky~ masks that have Spirit Halloween written all over them.

Tom Pelphrey portrays Robbie Prendergrast, a family man and garbage collector who’s the mastermind behind the heists in town (and the one wearing the skull mask above).

His crew is made up of Cliff and Peaches, portrayed by Raúl Castillo and Owen Teague.

Emilia Jones portrays Maeve, a young woman who is dragged into Robbie’s complicated situation simply because she’s his niece.

It’s really only the beginning and we already have a tangled web of family deaths, legal proceedings, and the risk of everything that could go wrong going horribly wrong. There’s still *so* much more to come.
