Is it just me, or does it feel like the stars are having a little fun at the expense of some old Hollywood drama? Today’s cosmic shenanigans have me wondering if Margot Robbie’s fiery response to a past co-star’s unsolicited diet advice was written in the heavens. Picture this: a younger Margot, fresh-faced and full of promise, receives a copy of French Women Don’t Get Fat—a thinly veiled suggestion that she should eat less—from a male actor. Cue the eye roll and a swift mental “Whoa, fuck you, dude!” Honestly, under the watchful gaze of Saturn, known for calling out hypocrisy, it’s no surprise she clapped back with cinematic gusto. Margot has since sashayed her way across Hollywood with roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, I, Tonya, and Barbie, leaving that awkward moment in the past where some dude thought a diet book was the way to her heart. And isn’t it just classic Aries energy—brash, bold, and unafraid to put the rude in their place? Buckle up, because Margot’s star power is only burning brighter, especially with the upcoming Wuthering Heights. Ready to dive into the full scoop on this sassy tale? LEARN MORE

Margot Robbie was quick to put a rude former co-star in his place.
During a recent conversation with Charli xcx for Complex, the Oscar-nominated actress and producer recalled a male castmember from a past project gifting her a book about eating less food.
“Very, very early in my career, an actor I worked with, a male actor, gave me a book called French Women Don’t Get Fat, and it was essentially a book telling you to eat less,” she said. “And I was like, whoa, fuck you, dude.”
Robbie added, “He essentially gave me a book to let me know that I should lose weight. I was like, ‘Wow.’” She also noted that she has “no idea where he would even be now.”
The book in question, written by Mireille Guiliano, was originally published in 2004 and centers on French eating habits and moderation.
While Robbie opted out of naming the male actor or the project they were working on together, she has gone on to make quite a name for herself in Hollywood. Some of her most notable roles include The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Suicide Squad (2016), I, Tonya (2017), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Bombshell (2019), Babylon (2022) and Barbie (2023).
She’s also earned three Oscar nominations, including best leading actress for I, Tonya, best supporting actress for Bombshell and best picture for Barbie.
Robbie next stars opposite Jacob Elordi in the Emerald Fennell-directed Wuthering Heights, which hits theaters on Friday. The filmmaker previously told British Vogue why she knew the actress was the obvious choice for the role of Cathy.
“Cathy is a star,” Fennell said at the time. “She’s wilful, mean, a recreational sadist, a provocateur. She engages in cruelty in a way that is disturbing and fascinating. It was about finding someone who you would forgive in spite of yourself, someone who literally everyone in the world would understand why you love her. It’s difficult to find that supersized star power. Margot comes with big dick energy. That’s what Cathy needs.”
