Liam Gallagher recently dropped a bombshell on social media, confessing that he has zero recollection of hosting “SNL” alongside the late Matthew Perry back in the ’90s. Now, isn’t that a twist? Liam Gallagher has revealed that he has no memory of hosting a show with Matthew Perry in the 90s.
The admission was made on Twitter after Gallagher slammed an SNL skit mocking the comeback of Oasis.
The skit, featuring Sarah Sherman playing him and James Austin Johnson playing brother Noel, mocked the feud between the two brothers.
The pair appeared in a Weekend Update segment with Colin Jost, which fans in the UK mocked relentlessly on Twitter.
One tweeted: “Should be a significant cash prize for anyone who can make it past 1 minute of this”.
Another said: “This is the worst episode that I’ve ever seen in my life. Not one smile. It’s time to pull the plug or get new talent”.
Of all people, Specsavers tweeted: “Do you mind letting us know who did this please”.
Gallagher then responded to the skit saying: “Are they meant to be comedians.”
When asked about it again the next day he called the skit ‘excruciating’.
Another fan, however, was then curious about how Liam found hosting SNL with the late Matthew Perry.
The pair appeared on the show together in 1997 (SNL)
The pair appeared on the show with the Friends star in 1997, at the height of their Oasis’ fame – and as Perry was beginning to fire himself into superstardom.
When asked whether he got on with Perry, Gallagher said: “I actually don’t remember being on it.”
Perry appeared on the show as a host just the one time in 1997. In this appearance he starred in a now fairly iconic sketch of ‘Sarcasm 101’ where he played a character very close to his Friends character Chandler Bing.

Perry was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home in the bathtub at the age of 54 last year.
A doctor has recently plead guilty after an investigation into his death. Dr. Mark Chavez appeared at the US District Court in Los Angeles on 2 October and is the third person out of the five to plead guilty.
It has been determined that Perry, who was open about his struggles with substance abuse, had died due to the ‘acute effects’ of ketamine found in his system.
A couple of months ago, police said there had been a ‘broad underground criminal network responsible for distributing large quantities of ketamine to Mr Perry and others’.
