Kim Woodburn’s family have criticised her How Clean Is Your House? co-star Aggie MacKenzie for making ‘hurtful’ comments in the wake of her death.

The 83-year-old, who was widely considered reality TV royalty in the UK, passed away on Monday (16 June) following a short illness.

Tributes poured in for the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant from fans and famous faces alike, while her ex-cleaning sidekick Aggie MacKenzie also shared her condolences.

In an article for The Sun, she described Woodburn as ‘fierce, complicated, maddening — and unforgettable’, as well as one of the ‘bravest people’ she’d known.

The pair first rose to fame by co-presenting the Channel 4 series How Clean Is Your House?, which ran from 2003 to 2009. However, according to MacKenzie, they had a huge fallout a year before the show wrapped.

The Scottish TV star, 69, claimed that she and Woodburn ‘never really spoke again’ after they came to blows in January 2008 while both performing as the Ugly Sisters in a pantomime of Cinderella in Brighton.

Explaining her alleged side of the story, MacKenzie told The Mirror: “Kim missed her cue [to go on stage], so I tapped her on the shoulder. We went on and did our scene, but when we came out at the other side, Kim was furious.

“She pushed me. She actually pushed me so hard that I fell over. I lost it then. I really really lost it with her. I was so furious because I wasn’t expecting to be pushed over like that.”

MacKenzie went on to claim that her former co-star then refused to return to the stage after the interval before eventually ‘storming out of her dressing room at the last minute’ to fulfil her role.

“It was awful,” MacKenzie continued. “She came on, and it was so obvious that she had been crying. I knew there was people in the audience thinking to themselves, ‘what the f**k is going on here’. It was mental.

“And after all of that I was just done. It felt like she had kind of crushed me. The disrespect was so much and I knew that I couldn’t actually continue being civil anymore without an apology.”

Describing Woodburn as a ‘very complex person’, the pro cleaner claimed that she’d never received an apology and she and Woodburn ultimately never buried the hatchet.

These candid remarks about the alleged demise of their working relationship haven’t gone down well with Woodburn’s loved ones, who have since spoken out to say they have been left ‘very hurt’ by MacKenzie’s comments.

A friend of Woodburn’s husband of 46 years, Peter Woodburn, rubbished MacKenzie’s claims and told The Sun: “Peter is very hurt and upset that Aggie has used Kim’s death as an opportunity to put herself back out there in public domain. A lot of things that Aggie has said are untrue. Recollections may vary.”

The pal further alleged that Woodburn had routinely been asked about her relationship with MacKenzie during interviews but ‘kept a dignified silence out of respect for the great work they did together’.

“Kim’s friends and family find it upsetting that she couldn’t do the same since Kim’s passing,” they added.

LADbible have contacted MacKenzie’s representative for comment.
