So, here’s the kicker: Kid Cudi found himself smack dab in the middle of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ messy federal trial back in the summer of 2025 — a wild ride involving charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution. Now, if Mercury wasn’t already wreaking havoc in the cosmos, this courtroom drama surely would have added fuel to the astrological fire! Cudi, aka Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, spilled the tea about past encounters with Diddy during a brief stint dating Diddy’s ex, Cassie Ventura. Talk about a celestial alignment of awkwardness. Kid Cudi recently opened up on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, confessing he “hated every minute” of testifying — and honestly, who wouldn’t? The dude was subpoenaed after dodging the government’s requests twice, then released some jaw-dropping testimony about Diddy’s alleged attempts to intimidate him, including setting his car ablaze with a Molotov cocktail. Rapper Kid Cudi made headlines in the summer of 2025 when he took the stand in Sean Diddy Combs‘ federal trial, in which the rap mogul was facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution.
During his time on the stand, Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, testified about several alleged encounters he had with the “Hello Good Morning” rapper years ago, during a brief period when he was dating Diddy’s now ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
Now, in a new interview with Alex Cooper on her popular podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” Kid Cudi is opening up about the experience, confessing that he “hated every minute of it.”

According to Kid Cudi, the only reason he appeared at the Federal District Court in Lower Manhattan was that the government essentially forced his hand. Speaking with Cooper, he stated that the prosecutors had asked him twice to testify, but he declined both times. “Then I got subpoenaed and I was like, ‘F-ck. Sh-t. No,'” he said.
As reported by The Blast, Kid Cudi testified on the stand about receiving a frantic phone call from an assistant who was “on the verge of tears.” During the phone call, the assistant notified Kid Cudi that Diddy and one of his “affiliates” were inside his home.

Kid Cudi told the court that after he returned home, he noticed that someone had opened Christmas presents he had purchased for other people and that his dog was locked in a bathroom. He later added that his dog had been “on edge” since that encounter.

Later, during his testimony, Kid Cudi, 41, also recalled the time he received a shocking phone call from a dog sitter alerting him that his luxury Porsche 911 convertible was engulfed in flames.
“What the f-ck?” he remembered thinking before saying he returned home to find a “Molotov cocktail” was what started the fire. “The top of my Porsche was cut open and that’s where they inserted the Molotov cocktail,” he testified.
Kid Cudi testified that he later agreed to meet with Diddy at Soho House in Los Angeles, where he noticed the “Last Night” rapper waiting for him, looking like a “villain.”
When asked why he chose to meet with Diddy after his car was set on fire, Kid Cudi testified, “Because I knew he had something to do with it.”

Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie, whom he dated from 2007 to 2018, also testified in court and shared a number of harrowing details about her time with the father of seven.
One of the most graphic stories was about the sexual orgies that many have alleged Diddy to be the mastermind of, also dubbed “Freak Offs.” On the stand, Cassie testified that she was forced to perform in these “Freak Offs” while high on drugs for Diddy’s pleasure. She stated that they would last anywhere from “36, 48, 72 hours.”
“The longest one was four days,” Cassie said, later admitting she felt “disgusting [and] humiliated.”

Despite his reluctance to appear in court, Kid Cudi told Cooper that once he was on the stand, his sole focus became supporting Cassie. “… Cassie is my friend and I love her and I want to see her do well,” he said, later sharing that he was beyond thrilled for her when she got married to her husband, Alex Fine.
“I was just there to support her. That’s what kind of gave me peace with it,” he continued. “When I sat down in that chair, it was just about, ‘D-mn, I don’t want to do this’ to being like, ‘Oh man, I gotta hold homegirl down and look out for her.'”
Throughout the trial, the jury heard testimony from more than 30 witnesses over six weeks. After more than 48 hours of deliberation following closing arguments, Diddy was found not guilty of the serious crimes of racketeering and sex trafficking, but guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
According to a previous report from The Blast, the rapper’s legal team indicated they were not surprised by the split verdict, implying they felt the more serious charges lacked sufficient evidence.
They also shared that although some of Cassie’s claims about him, specifically those about domestic violence, may have had some truth to them, they had no place in the case at hand.

After the verdict, many, including Diddy’s family, believed that the rapper would be released from jail, where he has been since September 2024, while he awaits his sentencing in October 2025.
Cassie’s legal team also requested that his bail be denied in a letter to the judge, writing, “Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in the case, including herself, as well as to the community.”
