TV personality Kat Von D has mostly been out of the limelight in the last few years, having recently reemerged to focus on her music career.
The 43-year-old, who rose to fame as an artist on LA Ink, recently shared an update as she continues to get the tattoos all over her body blacked out.
She made the unusual decision to cover up the majority of the ink on her body after she was accused of violating the intellectual property rights of photographer Jeffrey Sedlik when she tattooed a portrait he had taken of jazz musician Miles Davis on a friend’s arm.
Kat revealed the ordeal made her never want to tattoo ever again, adding: “My heart has been crushed through this in different ways.”

Back in 2021, in the same year Sedlik filed his lawsuit against her, Kat and her family decided to turn their back on life in Los Angeles in favour of a more peaceful way of living in Indiana.
At the time, the artist shared on Instagram: “As some of you know, we recently purchased a beautiful home on a bit of land in rural Indiana, and the more time we spend out there we realise we feel more at home there than we do here in LA.
“After much thought, we have decided we will permanently be moving to Indiana at the end of this year. We plan on selling our beautiful home here, and I will most likely open a private studio in Indiana once we are done with the house remodel there.”
Kat and her family moved into the historic Benjamin Schenck Mansion, which they purchased a year earlier, in 2020 for a reported $1.8 million.
The stunning property was built in 1874 and later restored between 1998 and 2000, according to Realtor.com, spanning over an impressive 12,000 square feet.
But while the home is undoubtedly impressive, many claim the 35-room mansion is haunted by numerous spirits, with the previous owner telling tales of paranormal activity.
Michelle Thompson, who used the property as a bed and breakfast, reported hearing doors opening and shutting on their own, the thermostat being turned up and various electronics being turned on.
One spirit apparently liked to get ‘frisky’ with male visitors, with Michelle claiming it tried to ‘kiss them’.
“We do have friendly spirits, four or five. One gets a little frisky with the guys. She likes to kiss them. There are some crazy stories told,” she told WCPO back in 2015.
While Kat herself has never publicly commented on whether the house is ‘haunted’, the mum-of-one previously claimed to engage in witchcraft, practicing spiritualism, attending meditation camps and spiritual retreats as well as reading tarot cards in her 20s.

However, when lockdown hit in 2020, she was left feeling ‘miserable’ and found herself being led back to Christianity, having been raised by missionary Christians and her family playing a big part in the local church.
In 2022, Kat renounced witchcraft and revealed she was removing all the occult items from her home, and the following year, she shared a video of herself being baptised among family and friends.
“I came to this really awesome realisation that night that I don’t want these crutches in my life anymore – and that’s what I really saw them as. I just want Jesus,” she said on an episode of the Relatable podcast.
