Estranged couple Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have sparked rumors of a reconciliation after they were seen boarding a Southwest Airlines flight on Friday afternoon.

Earlier this year, the duo announced they were taking time apart as they’d “been living separately,” but were focusing on raising their children together.

Jessica Simpson previously opened up about loving Eric Johnson through his “mistakes,” explaining that she “chose love” as the opposite of that would leave her overwhelmed.

The couple, who were married for 10 years from 2014 until last year, were spotted boarding a commercial flight from Burbank to Sin City, per TMZ.

The “Blonde Ambition” actress then compounded the rumors as she offered a bright smile when someone mentioned that it was good to see them out and about together.

Simpson and the former NFL player sat next to each other on the flight, as reports indicate they were headed to Las Vegas for the opening night of the actress’s sister, Ashlee Simpson’s, residency.

Neither star has officially commented on the rumors, but their recent public appearance is leading people to believe that something might be brewing in the background.

Simpson and Johnson announced they were going their separate ways back in January, revealing that they’d actually been “living separately” from each other.

“Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson said in a statement, per People Magazine. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

Before making the announcement, Johnson had already sparked rumors about the state of their marriage as he was spotted without his wedding ring in November the previous year.

Around the same time, the “With You” singer teased her comeback to music with a cryptic Instagram post that saw her recording in a studio booth.

“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” she captioned the post. “This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”

A source later told the news outlet at the time that the pair “very much live separate lives.”

Earlier this month, Simpson hinted at a possible reconciliation after she made a post saying she is choosing to love Johnson through his “mistakes” as she reflected on their “unexpected” divorce.

“I choose love because if I chose to be resentful or if I chose to let the pain of it overwhelm me, I would fail,” the actress star told Parade of their breakup in an interview.

Simpson continued, “And so I had to choose love and loving people through their mistakes. If I’m going to love through my mistakes, I have to love others through their mistakes.”

Simpson also dropped a major hint about a possible make-up, as she detailed the impact working on her new EP “Nashville Canyon Pt. 2” had on her.

In the interview, she told the news outlet that her time in the studio helped her heal from heartbreak.

“When I was in Nashville and recording, I was going through a really hard time, an unexpected change of life. I don’t think I’ve ever been so confused. But I didn’t let the confusion, the heartbreak, the negativity of that hold me back,” she shared.

Elsewhere in her chat with the news outlet, Simpson noted that she’d worked hard to get to a more stable place and wouldn’t jeopardize that for the sake of her three children, daughters Maxwell and Birdie, and son Ace, all of whom she shares with Johnson.

Simpson said she worked hard “to get to a place where I can have grace and compassion for the situation — for the sake of my kids — and be strong for myself, for my kids, for my family, even for Eric. I am a leader. I’m a mom.”

“It is so important to bright-side the s-it out of things. I’m a very optimistic person, and I know everything happens for a reason, and I know the truth sets you free,” she added.
