Jeremy Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan has opened up about his health scare last year which left him ‘days away from death’.
The Top Gear legend, 65, gave fans quite a fright after revealing that he underwent a life-saving procedure following a sudden and drastic ‘deterioration’ in his health.
He had been holidaying in the Indian Ocean last summer when he began to experience a strange array of symptoms, one of which began while he was enjoying a dip in the sea.
Clarkson explained that he had been diving into the ocean off of a boat when he suddenly realised his ‘lungs were full of water’ after his last jump.
He said he couldn’t even climb up a flight of stairs ‘without holding someone’s hand’ and things only got scarier when he arrived back in the UK after his travels.

The Grand Tour presenter recalled how he felt ‘clammy’, a tightness in his chest and ‘pins and needles’ in his left alarm, leading him to realise he needed to get checked out.
Clarkson was whisked to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital in an ambulance for checks on his heart, which is where he underwent a CT scan.
It revealed that one of his arteries ‘was completely blocked’, while another ‘was heading that way’ – so he was quickly taken to the operating theatre for emergency surgery.
“It seems that of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked, and the second of three was heading that way,” he wrote in his Sunday Times column.
The TV star had two stents fitted to unblock these and was discharged the following morning – and the whole ordeal left him thinking: “Crikey, that was close.”

After doctors warned Clarkson that he needed to drastically overhaul his lifestyle and diet, he joked that he was left ‘wondering what water tastes like and if it’s possible to make celery interesting’.
For those who might be pondering whether he did in fact find a way to jazz up vegetables, his other half has got something of an update to share.
Lisa Hogan, who has been in a relationship with Clarkson since 2017 after the pair were set up by pals, explained that fans will get to see his health scare unfold on the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm.
The Irish model, 52, explained she has been keeping a close eye on her fella since the incident last year, ensuring that he is making good choices when it comes to his diet and stays in good shape.
She shoves kale down his throat at any given opportunity, although she does have to disguise it in his meals – but according to Hogan, he’ll eat anything if it’s covered in chilli.

The Dublin-born actress also revealed that Clarkson now enjoys playing pickleball regularly, so he is sticking to his end of the bargain.
Discussing how he’s doing these days, Hogan told the Daily Mail that he’s noticed a vast improvement in his health since the surgery last year.
“I’m so relieved,” she said. “He had been getting unwell for a while. His arteries needed to be cleared and now they are.”
Hogan has also opened up about why she doesn’t want to get wed to Clarkson, despite being together for eight years.
She was previously married and has three children, while her other half got hitched twice before her and also has three kids.
Still, Hogan has also described the car-loving farmer as her ‘final partner’, so it seems her heart firmly belongs to Clarkson.
