Ever notice how when the stars line up just right, they seem to give folks the boldness to throw shade at Jennifer Lopez’s stage outfits? Well, as the cosmos stirred on December 30th, JLo didn’t just shrug off the galactic haterade—she served it right back with a side of sparkle and sass during her Las Vegas residency debut. At 56, she’s still defying expectations and those pesky online critics who wonder why she dresses “too young” or “too naked”—and let’s be honest, if you were rocking that kind of booty, wouldn’t you want to flaunt it, too? With a wink and a laugh, Lopez reminds us all to tune out the noise, keep glowing, and maybe consider the wisdom of ignoring critics as a planetary gift. Who knew a sequin fringe mini dress could double as armor against internet trolls? Talk about a stellar comeback! LEARN MORE

Jennifer Lopez hit back at the trolls who complain about the way she dresses on stage.

The ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker, 56, has defended always keeping herself in incredible shape which has apparently offended people online.

During her first showing of ‘Jennifer Lopez: Up All Night Live’ in Las Vegas residency on Tuesday (30 December), she shared some of the negative replies she gets online.

“Thank God I’ve been doing this a long time. I can just ignore a lot of it. It really doesn’t mean nothing. I tell my kids that all the time,” Lopez told the audience, as seen in a video posted on TikTok.

“I do laugh at some of the things sometimes, because they do say funny things too.”

Addressing the criticism she gets, the singer said: “Why she always dressed that way? Why don’t she dress her age? Why she always naked?”

Her X-rated response to the comments were: “If you had this booty, you’d be naked too,” before continuing on with her performance in a sequin fringe mini dress and feathery skirt.

People largely supported her in the comments, as one person admitted: “If I had her body I’d be wearing that too! Even to the local supermarket.”

A second also wrote: “Don’t listen to the negativity! You are a beautiful person!”

“I respect her a lot!!!” a third viewer said. “Sad that people don’t give her credit that she deserves.”

Many were saying that the ‘hate is forced’, as another penned: “I don’t ever think JLO ever said she can sing like Mariah.

“The girl is an entertainer and dancer who could hold a tune, that’s all. I don’t understand the JLO hate.”

It comes after she was criticised for wearing what people thought were ‘revealing’ outfits to perform at a lavish wedding in India in November.

She donned a variety of looks, including a couple of sparkly leotards and a black bodysuit.

While some users said ‘what the hell is she wearing’ and asked her ‘where the hell is ur dress’, others thought she looked ‘absolutely stunning’ and that she put on an ‘incredible’ performance.

Earlier last year though, JLO faced a bit of wardrobe malfunction when her skirt fell off during a gig in Poland, telling the crowd ‘I’m here in my underwear’.

After several attempts to stitch it back up, she decided to throw it into the audience and carry on like a champ.
