Authorities Investigating An Additional Possible Suspect In Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance

Per TMZ, on Thursday, February 12, a new video was revealed of a man recorded 5 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s wearing similar clothing and items as the man caught via Nest video at Guthrie’s home when she disappeared.

The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are now closely examining the new footage, and the man in the images is on their radar.

As of now, it’s unclear if the person in the new footage is the same person seen in the person video or if there are multiple people.

Authorities said they noticed that the man in the recent footage, which was captured via Ring camera, is carrying what appears to be a similar backpack as the first potential suspect, and both sets of footage were recorded around the time Guthrie disappeared.

According to TMZ, the backpack in question has been confirmed to be a Ozark Trail Hiker sold by Walmart.

On Wednesday, February 11, it was shared by authorities that the clothing seen in the initial video footage was also being investigated.

Black Gloves Found Close To Nancy Guthrie Crime Scene

According to CBS News, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that a pair of black gloves were found on the side of the road about a mile and a half from Nancy Guthrie’s home.

The gloves are said to be similar to those that the suspect in the Nest surveillance footage was wearing at Guthrie’s front door on the morning of her abduction.

Per the outlet, the gloves will now be tested for DNA. The only DNA that has been confirmed as of now, is the blood found on Guthrie’s front porch that was a positive match to her.

A Third Ransom Note Demanding Additional Bitcoin Was Revealed

On February 11, TMZ revealed that a third ransom note was sent to the outlet demanding one Bitcoin, which is worth approximately $66,000, in exchange for information about Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping.

The sender of the ransom note alleged they have tried unsuccessfully to reach out to two of Guthrie’s children, daughter Annie and son Camron, both siblings of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, via text message and email.

“If they want the name of the individual involved, then I want 1 Bitcoin to the following wallet. Time is more than relevant,” the note read.

The outlet also confirmed the Bitcoin address used for the latest ransom request is authentic, but a different one from the address that was used for the previous ransom demand.

The outlet forwarded the ransom note to the FBI.

First Surveillance Footage Is Biggest Break In Guthrie Case

Per NBC News, FBI director Kash Patel, shared four black-and-white photos of the masked suspect on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, February 10.

In the surveillance images, the potential suspect is seen wearing gloves, a mask, and a backpack. The individual also appeared to tamper with the surveillance camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the morning of her disappearance.

Patel also revealed that the person was armed, as a holstered gun appears on his hip.

“Working with our partners — as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” he wrote.
